Actually Erickson was for Perry, not Romney.
Absolutely.
I just hope he means and will back up what he says and NOT flip to the Left if he gets in.
SC has open primaries so Dems who love Lindsey are obstacles to true conservatives winning.
Mitt won't fool anyone, and would make it difficult to get the base excited. He might still win, but it would be a lot closer, and he could easily lose.
The other kind are the nasty people who frequently kill wives, children, etc.
Mitt strikes me as the kind who learns how to be socially acceptable, but cold. I suppose a good number of multi-millionaires are like that, but politicians have to be much more sociable. It's significant he won office in Massachusetts ~ you walk down the street you get the felling they are all like that. It's sure not my kind of place to live.
You are misusing the term RINO.
Now, tell us all what a big Leftwinger Bob Dole was ~ and, btw, before you do that, get wounded in a war for us.
“Another interesting aspect of your list is that when RINOs run as conservatives, they win, but their act must be believable. No one believes the Mitt that has been anti-Reagan, pro-abortion, state health care provider, will be a conservative in office.”
That’s a GREAT POINT. McCain also had that little problem of a public record when he ran in 2008. He tried his best to run from it...but just not believable.
“None of those people ever ran for office as Democrats. None of them abandoned the Republicans to support Perot. You are misusing the term RINO. Now, tell us all what a big Leftwinger Bob Dole was ~ and, btw, before you do that, get wounded in a war for us. “
I agree that none of them were as bad as Perry (who was a Democrat, and still has those streaks in him), but they were trusted as solid conservatives. Dole was simply known as a compromiser, due to his leadership role in the Senate, and to in the base, that equaled RINO. He simply wasn’t trusted as a conservative. And by the way, Max Cleland lost 3 limbs in Vietnam, yet no one would EVER had considered him a conservative just because of it.
Then again, maybe he's changed his mind. I know I've changed mine about 4 times since this mess began. Judging by the polls, we all have.
Or are you going to claim you were for Newt since he announced? If so, you were one of the prescient 2%. I still think Newt's a clown, but given the final four -- you can be damned sure I'll vote for him.
Call it "sticking my finger in the wind" if you want, but it's really just politics. Ugly but necessary stuff.
