The question I have with him is, will he listen? No way to know that now.

I agree, but I had to decide what the best option was...today. Newt was the most conservative I consider electable.

My vote for Thompson last election, helped seal the nomination for McCain. I couldn't make the same mistake this time and put Mitt in the driver seat. I know Newt goes off on tangents, but Mitt is too liberal.

I still think its going to be a close thing, but I believe I did the right thing. Time will tell.

Speaking of women picking men....Are you aware

that Newt’s first wife was his high school geometry teacher....When DID they’re relationship begin?????

that Newt and wife number two were separated for six years before they devorced. In those years he met someone else.

Oh really? I’m “Catholic in Name Only”.

What ‘post of the last two weeks’ do you base that notion on?

You made a very odd reply to me yesterday on the subject of marriage.

And yesterday I vowed not to argue with a Catholic.

I also vowed not to use my husband’s handicap placard when I can walk.

I find it a convoluted moral strategy to say that because Rick Santorum’s wife ONLY LIVED with an old dude for 6 years but never married him, she is somehow more fit to marry than someone who had a previous marriage.

This seems like serious nit-picking to me and I am about to go post something on the door of the Vatican like Martin Luther did.

Umm,......you were not mentioned in any way. That was in regards to another one who previously did that to me on several posts prior. I know the common protocol, and make a point to usually return the discourtesy when it is done to me.

And I would never insult you. Maybe disagree, but it seems we are on the same page usually.

I would especially like some research done on the the Obama gay rumors.
There is too much out there on the net to disregard it.
McCain ran a horrible campaign, the info was out there for anyone to do some reseach.
I think Newt will run a much more effective campaign than McCain. He will expose Obama. He will not be afraid of being called a racist.

Today, if Newt wins, will remind me of something I read in the Bible.

You know, up in the Old Testament part.

The Book of Newt-O’er-Romney.

That is hilarious!

slap hands lol

Romney proves he is a chickensh+t over the Ham House fiasco. I am sure Rick would not have backed away from it with Gingrich. That Mitt, what a work of art. Now he is spinning more garbage for the assembled mass media. If he is somehow denied the first place, it will be a delight in and of itself just to see the looks on Laura Ingraham, Ann Coulter, Karl Rove, Lindsay Graham, John McCain Jeb Bush, Nikki Haley, Bay Buchanan, Peggy Noonan, (and now John Bolton—big disappointment) all these peoples’ faces over Romney slipping away from his coronation by the elite and having to fight for every inch of it. My next guess? The elite RINO establishment tries to keep Paul and Santorum out of remaining debates for some reason. We will see. We will see. I also do wonder what poor Meghan McCain is going to do. Guess she will be a early starter of “Republicans for Obama” Group that will no doubt emerge and say the Republican party has been hijacked by Goldwater extremists, regardless of whether Rick or Gingrich gets the nomination. I cannot STAND these RINOs.

Got to top 446,000 votes. That is the 2008 Republican Primary vote!!! Keeping my fingers crossed. “All” South Carolina citizens/voters, get out there and vote and break every vote record a Republican POTUS Primary in South Carolina has ever seen. Vote for Newt, Rick, Ron & Mitt. Just vote in massive numbers. It will really hurt Obama, the failed and un-American, job killing, POTUS for all of America and all her citizens be they White, Black, Hispanic, Asian, minority, etc.!!! POTUS Obama needs to be dropped like a bad habit!!!

“You made a very odd reply to me yesterday on the subject of marriage.”

Um, you said that shacking up was the same as being married. No, it’s not. I said there is zero evidence for, (and your own source showed), that there is plenty of evidence against the fact that Karen was married prior to her marriage with Rick.

“I find it a convoluted moral strategy to say that because Rick Santorum’s wife ONLY LIVED with an old dude for 6 years but never married him, she is somehow more fit to marry than someone who had a previous marriage.”

Yes, that’s because living together isn’t the same as marriage.

“This seems like serious nit-picking to me”

Hardly, not unless you believe that shacking up is the same as being married. As I said, the Catholic church sees marriage as a sacrament, that, like Baptism, you can’t get remarried, just like you can’t get rebaptised.

This is different from how protestants see marriage. It’s important to understand this.

Marrying your mistress is not the same thing as repentence. Repentence would be returning to the wife that you wronged and saying you were wrong to cheat on her.

But then what do I know? I’m just a Catholic

That’s bullcrap. The church examines everything. Past marraiges as well as his relationship with Calista. If they determined that his relationship with Calista did not fall within the guidlines of Canon Law for the Sacrament of Marraige, they would never have allowed them to marry in the Church.

My point is that having a clean record is good, but not enough. In November we will need a candidate willing to seriously attack Obama, and not be deterred by the torrent of HATE that will sweep over him from the Left. Newt has demonstrated that he has a thick skin, and the ability to hit back hard.

Meanwhile, let's remember that Santorum lost his seat because he endorsed RINO Arlen Specter in PA, because the Establishment told him to.

Yeah, that is pretty much what a lot of people in their teens looked like back n the 70s, no better, no worse. Looks like a Young Republican Debater type, if you ask me. Say, that was that hit piece article from the liberal Atlantic. Are you proud of perpetrating it here on Free Republic? Are you a fan of the Atlantic and its writing and its attacks on conservatives? Feel good about it?

Vatican believes that Prudence is a virtue and imprudence (folly) is sinful ... concerns practical matters such as political primaries.

So whatever y’all are bantering about I suspect the Vatican will join in with altura’s arguments. I would, but I am busy with the blizzard of ‘12.

another thought: scandal of Magdelene. Some don’t like to be in a church with such folks. scandal of Judas scares ‘em worse. Discussed under humility section of the guide book.
