Thank you!
Are you a dancer?
Your observation is painfully true. It took Reagan a lot of pain and sacrifice to win the White House in 2000. He put in a lot of work and sacrifice from ‘64 and onwards through his governorship of CA, loss in ‘76, but never quit. He ruled for 8 great years, but alas, handed the torch to another moderate in Bush 41. Newt refused to join the elder President Bush, and the war still is not settled in the ranks of the Republican Party.
I totally agree that Newt is the only viable candidate to defeat Obama. Romney has done a brilliant job of instigating strife in the conservative ranks by his carpetbomb attacks on Newt. Indeed he has made the good become the enemy of a perceived perfect. Keep speaking the truth - you’re not alone.
They are all rooting for Romney, they fear Gingrich. I will go for fear
I used to work for a campaign. I have to say it’s more about -effectiveness- than it is the hours that you put into things.
I worked 6 days in 6 weeks, but I had more output than anybody who worked every day of the week. Why? Because I went out on Saturdays from 1pm to about 9pm. 8 hours, once a week. Why?
Most people are home then, they have some time to talk, and they are more conducive to folks coming in and knocking on their door.
You can go to one house when one person is home and get that one person to sign - or you can go when there are two families over and get 10, 12 people, from one house.
Which is more effective? A or B?
Mormon missionaries spend on average 2 years, working 6 days a week, around 10 hours a day. That’s 60 hours a week, 52 weeks of the year, or over 3k hours. They might see 1 baptism that sticks for over 6k hours of work.
If they were paid 10 dollars an hour, that means that it’s costing 60 thousand dollars just to get one person back. If that person were to tithe 10 percent, and made about 40k a year, it would take 12 years for the church to make it’s money back!
There’s a better way to do this, and I know Santorum knows a more effective way to put 24 hours of his time in South Carolina.
Go where the people are, talk to as many people as you can. Get people out into the community and get them to go in for you, and so on and so forth.
Romney can afford to spend what he needs. Rick can’t.
Its like an army that can battle to a standstill against a larger opponent but ends up losing because they can’t afford the battlefield loses like the other side.
No, but I did stay in a holiday inn last night.
Romney has the men and the money, but he does not have the cause.
He can throw what he wants when he wants, but if he cannot win over the people, then all that will be for naught.
Yes, Santorum cannot afford as many losses as Romney. That just means he has to be smarter about it all.
:)
FYI &
Newt’s list
Which is why the nation under the arms of Newt was careful and produced balanced budgets every year? :)
Latest Gallup Poll puts Newt in 4th Nationally now.
Santorum second, ahead of Paul but still well behind Romney.
So explain to me why I should support Newt since it seems like his support has collapsed.
Santorum is flattered, that’s all there is to it.
He needs to drop out, but his ego won’t do it.
The other day the Newt only supporters said if it were Santorum they would back him but they pointed out all day long that NEWT was ahead of Santorum.Gingrich has tanked and they are all silent now.
I gave them my word. We’ll see if they keep theirs to back Santorum should he go 3/3.
