Utmost Certainty,

There's substantial evidence (as reported by the Wall Street Journal) that Mitt Romney-Bain Capital "did in fact" financially "rape and pillage" some corporations ...

WITHOUT A THOUGHT to cleaning up their business.

Care to argue with the Wall Street Journal about that ?

Newt Ginrich's Press Release today (2012-01-11) about Mitt Romney and Bain Captital's "Vulture Capitalism" ....

Spartanburg, SC – Newt 2012 released the following statement from Press Secretary R.C. Hammond responding to misleading reports on an exchange Newt Gingrich had with a voter in Spartanburg, SC

Regarding Mitt Romney’s record at Bain Capital (during which the phrase “I crossed the line” was never uttered from Newt, despite the headline from Politico):

“This issue at hand is neither about Bain Capital, private equity firms, nor about capitalism.

It is about Mitt Romney’s judgment and character. It was Governor Romney’s decision to base his candidacy, in large part, on his background as a portfolio manager.

Thus, it is entirely legitimate to ask questions about whether he is accurately presenting how he conducted himself during that career.

“Reports by the Wall Street Journal and others contradict Governor Romney's claims that it was his goal at Bain Capital to make companies more successful.

In fact, there were cases where Bain Capital made huge profits and left companies bankrupt.

Further reports have cast doubt on Governor Romney's claim that he was responsible for 100,000 jobs being created thanks to his work at Bain Capital.

“Instead of accepting the responsibility to answer questions about his business background, the Romney campaign is throwing up a smokescreen about an attack on capitalism.

That’s just more pious baloney from Mitt Romney and his campaign.”

====================================

As usual, Newt Gingrich "nailed it" perfectly ...

We're now (breathlessly) waiting for Mitt Romney's response ...

... including releasing his Federal Income Tax Returns ...

Carr is a well known old kind of news guy, for years he was after the Bulger case..and he and Newt have been friends for 20 plus years. He finally is doing well with the books on the Bulger case, more power to him.Carr has gone after Romney on Bain Capital as well and today on his dog on the car roof scenario that never dies. The callers still have not warmed up to Romney. Just he did rapid-fire questions on Newt, as people wanted to know- and which I think Newt answered well.

If these candidates addressed these daunting questions in a way that the everyday person could understand when they only have so much time to catch the news, then they would not be haunted with so much spin and confused by repetitive news bites...like Newt NOT owning a building on K Street, the Freddie involvement income explained in detail etc. Newt was calm, cool and collected but did pause when he heard what Santorum's comment. He also said he was unaware of the little old lady ad out on thenumber of Romney homes and said it should be taken down, but was Newt's PAC with a recent infusion of big money from the Vegas billionaire capitalist.

Howie was speaking with great haste like he always does—not always a great speaker but he does his homework for the most part. As you heard in the end, they both parted as friends.

Howie was however responsible for Scott Brown getting into office as his show was Browns rise to a win among Independents who ruled that election. Independents are the rule in NH as well. The outcome was predictable Romney, Paul and Huntsman. Voters do not like when a candidate does not spend much time in the state, and it shows in the vote.

If you listen to the show Howie is on Romney's case often in regard to the mandated health care where Howie has to pay a fine if he does not file every year, which Romney responded by telling Howie he might want to call the his state rep to complain. So one show does not represent all.

Also today they ran a poll and seems FReepers may have influenced it in some way. I was in my car listening to the show. Howie is a Free Republic fan, and can often tell he has been reading on FR. I dont know if they can tell if this link about Newt took people to their site or if FReepers did reflect in the numbers today on the poll question, but Sandy mentioned she thought the poll had been Freeped. It was regarding Obama’s uncle Omar’s traffic violation.
