I'm surprised and a bit dismayed by how many FReepers are absolutely certain that Obama is a lock for re-election when his presidency has been a disaster and everyone knows it, despite desperate media attempts to give him cover and questionable polls that always claim Obama is dead even with any Republican challenger. I agree with Rush Limbaugh's assessment.

I also realize that this isn't 1980 and there is no Reagan-like Republican in sight but Obama is worse than Carter and few voters are going to be fooled into believing that if they give him another four years as president he'll 'fix' everything. They now realize that he won't because he either can't or just doesn't want to. Either way, Obama will be defeated. The 'doom-and-gloom' crowd can wallow in their angst and complain all day long about the supposedly lackluster field of Republican primary candidates but I'm more interested in nominating a conservative because, as Rush astutely pointed out, if we nominate another mushy 'moderate' that sounds like a Democrat, we'll lose. The vaunted independents won't see any reason to vote for what is, in effect 'Obama-Lite' and they'll stick with the guy they know (Obama) and hope he improves in his second term. If that happens, I'm convinced that we're very likely to permanently lose the America we know and love and I'm not ready to cede the election and our nation's future to Obama and the left.

Those willing to do a lot of complaining and criticizing but otherwise give up at this early stage and moan that Obama is a sure bet to win re-election, with precious little evidence to support that opinion, are being foolish and self-defeating. Why? More important, why here, on FR? Very odd.

Rush, watchya gonna do if Romney becomes the Nominee and he gets bashed 24/7 on Free Republic for months on end?

Someone needs to advise Limbaugh that the most active Conservative website bans Romney and Paul supporters.

The same website that outed Dan Rather's lies on behalf of Bush in real time. Both Zero and Romney will get no support on freerepublic.com no matter who the nominee is. They will continue to be exposed for their liberalism.

Would love for Newt to mention how Romney fails to have any traction on freerepublic.com and that Newt would love to do a live question and answer session on Free Republic.

Is Limbaugh really that out of touch with the Tea Party and Conservatives? He will learn fast that if Romney becomes the nominee, Conservatives will write in a vote for President and vote in Conservatives to take on Zero.

Romney will NEVER Win.

Go NEWT !!!

A landslide victory and then what? Just exactly will happen? More of the same old sh$t?

Does taking back our government end with installing yet one more big government elitist?

It is Obama’s race to lose which he seems to be doing handily.
