Why do I have a deep-gut feeling that Romney is behind all these dirty tricks on the conservative candidates? And, why do I also have the feeling that his campaign was behind the smears on Sarah Palin? I don’t trust the guy any more than I can throw him. If he is our candidate, I’ll have to think long and hard about voting for him, or staying home. Tough decision!
The checking was being done by “volunteers”, according to the VA GOP spokesman.
Whose volunteers were these?
Is this legit info?
If so, it appears none actually qualified, which reflects on the procedural weakness, not the ineffective signature gathering attempts of all the candidates.
You need to get a grip.
Besides, that is not the topic of this thread.
LMAO..... You mean Herman-”got a lot swirling around in my head”-Cain? That Cain? LOL
Not in a million years.
50+ percent is the gold standard. And yes, your petition gatherers are extremely important.
The state attempted to invalidate all my 400, when they called my mother’s address to verify that I had collected all of them. Thankfully, she relayed to me the message, and I was able to call and confirm that yes, I had signed the petition.
It’s hard work, but when done well makes all the difference in the world.
Romney and Paul were grandfathered in from 2008? !!!
Computer database will reject even the smallest error. Right.
You cannot VOTE in Alaska unless you prove who you are..
AND they keep track of who voted and who didn’t vote..
You cannot vote twice in Alaska.. unless your district is corrupt..
However Lisa Murcowski(r-sen) was just voted in because democrats did not vote for the democrat candidate but voted for her in the general election..
She lost the primary.. although it was legal (this voter fraud) it was very sneaky..
Shes toast in the next election...
Herman is no longer in the race, and is not the topic here.
As opposed to Newt “not on the ballot in my home state” Gingrich.
“And you know who THAT benefits?”
Kneel before Romney, sayeth the VA GOP masters.
“6 weeks of canvassing netted me 400 signatures. Youre telling me that Newt couldnt round up 20k sigs in VA? Me and about 10 others depending on how we were spread out over the state could do it in a month.”
They underestimated the cupidity of the VA gop, and he obviously never ran as a third party candidate before. Third parties know what lengths states will go to to deny you a place on the ballot.
If they say 10,000 signatures, you’d better plan to get double that and check as many of them as you can yourself.
It’s Christmas Eve, dearest katdidit1. No time to be sick over politics or even this. Little or nothing can be done today or tomorrow, so please keep the faith!
It’s not just Gingrich, but also Perry, so a challenge will surely be in order.
We all need to have a Blessed and Merry CHRISTmas!
It is to the clown that I responded to.
I used to work in the credit card industry. They use something called the Address Verification System (AVS). It’s used to verify addresses when making purchases online by credit card.
The credit card industry have expertise in address verification going back decades.
They know that the name part of the address is worthless for verification because it varies so much: “1234 N Main St” could be written as “1234 Main”, “1234 North Main”, “1234 Main Street N”, “1234 Main Ave”, “1234 Horse Path Road” (old name for Main Street), and a hundred other variations.
The credit card industry does address verification way by for the longest string of consecutive digits in the street address and compares that against its database, and nothing else.
For example if you wrote down “1234 Mian Ave Northe” it would only check “1234” against your real address and it would match. The presumption is that the odds of two people with the same name and the same digits in their street address being two different people is negligible.
I would not surprise me if the VA computer system is using some lame-o character comparison algorithm over the whole string, like a stricmp().
Unsubstantiated allegations indeed. I rest my case.
Time to draft Cain, because it seems like Newt just can’t get ‘er done in the crunch. We need a winner.
Well I guess the ruling republican elite’s are just as corrupt as the democrats, oh wait they do sleep together.
Wonder what Ann “man neck” Coulture has to say about her buds in the leadership cheating for her man Romney. end sarcasm

My Life, many are arguing this notion of Voter ID— and that's proper but not relevant here.
The argument to the Court is— plaintiffs agree that only verified Virginia voters get to sign a petition. But, the current verification process is wholly flawed, and may well be undermining the legitimate intent of Virginia citizens. Therefore, we ask for one week's time to amend our petition, so as to provide the requisite verification that existing signatures are in fact valid. We see no harm to any party in allowing this short time to fulfill a lawful intent- to verify the will of the petitioning citizen, and his right to do so.
It turned out J. McCain’s people were behind at least some of the smears and dirty tricks on S. Palin.
Neither apparently is Newt.
