The only thing missing is the Cadillac.

I have never been to this mall, despite having driven past it many times to visit friends who live well east of town.

I haven't been there in about five years. Five years ago, it was a nice mall. Obviously, things can change.

If you're in Atlanta and you want to go to Bert Adams Scout Reservation, you're going to pass Stonecrest Mall off I-20, unless you want to drive through West Virginia or Idaho on the way.

whatever happened to just being happy with an old caddy parked out by the shanty with a big sat-tv dish prominently displayed?

whilst sitting on one’s porch waiting on the “check” and playing dominos

some folks just must have everything...

I don’t understand the love for sneakers. They kill for these things, they know the names, when they are released. I get a new pair of shoes every couple of years, they don’t get my motor running. Although I could use a nice pair of walking shoes.

This has been one ugly Christmas shopping season.

On Black Friday, there were fistfights over bargain priced waffle makers.

And in another incident, a woman pepper sprayed other shoppers to get an X-Box. This woman had her two small children with her, so they saw how their mom handles the crowds who got in her way.

Now we hear about the mad rush for the latest sneakers.

Is the veneer of civilization very thin?????

Well Boogieman, I guess anytime you go off and leave a baby or young child alone in a public place where they are unprotected from kidnappers, rapist and other sickos, they are in danger.

This ain't your grandparents world anymore.

Since when did it become child endangerment leaving kids in a locked car in the middle of winter? In July, I can see, but in December?

It would take longer, but being left in the cold - particularly if not appropriately dressed - isn't healthy for children or adults. I know we are talking about Atlanta, but just ask somebody who has died while stranded in a car in winter. Wait. Just ask the surviving family members.

People cuing up all over the country to buy sneakers...during a riot.

C’mon, they’re sneakers.

So, it’s come to this: Zillions of Obama voters tearing each other to pieces over sneakers.

That’s really civil, isn’t it?

Wait until the government runs out of printing press ink to print up more money for welfare and other socialist programs... this kind of behavior will be pouring out in the streets...

There is a Federal program which issues sneaker stamps to the "deprived."

Well, the doors were locked and the cops had to break the window to get in, so they weren’t totally unprotected. I think the paranoia over kidnappings is a bit overblown, I don’t think they happen at that much higher rate now than they always did, they are just publicized more by the sensational media.

Our news media blows everything up but that doesn’t change the fact that the worst thing that can happen to a parent is to lose a child. It does happen, kids are taken by perverts and raped and murdered. If it is your fault for leaving them in the car alone, the guilt would be crushing. The guilt is bad enough even when you are blameless.

Would it be too obvious to say that a culture that places more social respect on footwear than on education is destined to failure?

Now, now, we see this same kind of thing happen when people line up on the release date of the latest IPhone, right? Don't we? Help me out here.
