Lead, follow, or get out of the way. Exactly. This is a matter of selecting a person to be leader of this country with all of the obligations that leadership involves. No disrespect to Sarah but I say the same to any other candidate. Her reasons for not obliging those of us who wanted her to become a presidential candidate are not relevant and neither are her plans for the future. Time is short for making hard choices and Sarah is not part of the equation. Moving on ——

She has her hands full with all of those kids at home. And likely does not want any of them to have to live through the media jackal onslaught that met Bristol.

Exactly, and it perfectly explains why she's trying to sell another Reality TV series based on the family. Hey, isn't that the best way to shield the loved ones from the lime-light?

#4 THIS IS THE REASON THE RIGHT PEOPLE WILL NOT RUN FOR PUBLIC OFFICE.

Correct, as we now see daily with the current GOP offerings.

Reminds me of an email joke I received the other day:

Dear Abby,
I've become interested in geneaology but it's very hard to trace my roots.Sue.

Dear Sue, register as a Republican and run for office in California.

I thought she looked fine in October and I don’t think her marriage was a concern. I agree that two of her kids seem to have changed their votes against her run (my guess, Bristol after her bar accident and Willow backing up Bristol) and the McGinniss book I too think cut too close to the bone.

Then I also think she worried about running without sufficient funding and against the MSM, GOP Establishment and Democrat machine all at once. The Perry boomlet also may have delayed her entry until things somehow started looking more daunting.

there will be many vicious, ugly comments aimed at Sarah - worse than those which got Pissant banned.

OK, I had to LOL at the last part of your comment.

I’m also curious about the silence of the Tea Party, which took the nation by storm in 2010 then disappeared. Could the silence of the two be connected?

I believe that both Sarah and the (amorphous) Tea Party are disgusted with the Republican contenders this time around. There isn’t a solid, Constitution-backing “real conservative” in the bunch. Ron Paul comes the closest, with his firm Constitutional positions, but then his isolationist views and conspiracy theories make him sound like the crazy uncle in the attic.

Sarah should have led the charge to turn the Tea Party into a serious “third” political party, right after the 2010 elections. The Tea Party merely “used” the Republican Party to gain office, because they couldn’t win running as a third party, and the GOP is (or at least was) the party of smaller government and lower taxes. It was a marriage of convenience only.

My gut keeps telling me to remain hopeful, that something wonderful is in the works. Somebody, somewhere, must have a plan, right?

Is it too late to draft Chuck Norris?

Can’t disagree, especially Ron Paul’s conspiracy views.

We have to unite regardless and not stay at home.

Chuck came out in a commercial for a video game/war game I’d never let my kids play. Ugh.

There is no pure solution and we lose if we hold out for one.

My basic premise is that if one wants that particular office (POTUS) and one bows out due to “impact on one’s family” (which BTW includes not just wives and offspring), then one has ABSOLUTELY NOT ONE IOTA OF BUSINESS running in the first place, because one is basically a COWARD.

Again, if one allows their campaign to be derailed by innuendo, name calling and rumors, then how can we expect such a person to stand up to the REAL THREATS like A-Q, HAAMAS, Muzzie B’hood, John Hinckley etc, etc etc, ALL of whom would be happy to inflict SERIOUS Bodily Harm on ANY POTUS and those close to him/her.

If there is worrisome crap in one’s background, and having seen the extermination process before, why raise false hopes in the population, unless of course the whole thing is very well planned and orchestrated (KGB/Alinsky & company)?

What is that old saying? Something like (expanded after further consideration):

>Once is a random event (Barry Goldwater)
>Twice is a coincidence (Ross Perot)
>Three times kinda implies a trend/plan (Sarah Palin)
>FOUR TIMES pretty much says (at least to me) “THE PLAN IS READY FOR PRIME TIME and will work as expected each time it is implemented” (Herman Cain)

Hence my belief that any CONSERVATIVE OUTSIDER making it to the General POTUS Election is forevermore a wet dream. Look at some recent offerings by the nation’s “CONSERVATIVE” party - BOB DOLE and JOHN McCAIN. Now look at the field we will have to choose from:

ROMNEY, GINGRICH, PERRY, PAUL, BACHMAN, SANTORUM, HUNTSMAN

This cast now consists of people who are either a “lesser of two evils” candidate when compared to Obama or doomed to SERIOUS trouncing by Obama in the General Election.

I think what happens goes something like this:

“Pssst, Hey POTUS Candidate from the outside, you have a choice:
(a) get relentlessly, personally decimated by the media
(b) QUIT and either enjoy a VERY profitable career as a political pundit/author/well paid speaker (Palin & Cain) or just go back to your old pre-campaign existence and fade away into the dust of history (Goldwater & Perot)”

To paraphrase one of the greatest movie script lines of all time:

“TRUTH???? We don’t need no stinkin’ TRUTH!!!!”

I admire Sarah Palin and amazed at her political savvy -in part, because her background, family dynamics and life-style were so ‘out of the political mainstream’. Her conservative philosphy and pioneer attitude were superb and seductive.

With her beauty and brains - she was ‘bigger than life’ to many supporters and then it evolving into ‘she owes us’ expectations.

Sarah is savvy enough to realize her base, though emotionally invested....was numerically insufficent for a General Election. IMHO- She stepped back and determined her own family needed her more than a political campaign of personal destruction.

Smart lady.

You asked if I am physically ill, apparently since I wondered if Sarah is. The answer is no, I’m fine, but to explain my question, I saw her on Hannity not long ago and she did not have her usual sparkle, her usual vitality. She seemed subdued.

And, in case you are thinking that I don’t like her—I wanted to vote for her. I still do.

To: Why So Serious

That’s the problem. Most of the people in politics are the ones that WANT it, but aren’t the ones who should be put in charge. People like Palin, and evidently you, just want to get the position for a term or two to make a difference, then leave.(Just as our forefathers envisioned)The professional politician is the worst thing that has ever happened to mankind.

Yes, the state run media did its best to destroy her, just as they are our other candidates now.

I don’t think she could run without Todd, and there are many hints that, after the McGinnis book, he was no longer on board (if he ever was).

I don’t recall the exact thread that caused his demise - but Pissant was virulently anti-Palin.

His account is listed as banned - but his last post was on March 17th, 2011 (his tagline supported Michelle Bachmann and a Ping list solicitation).

BTW that last thread exemplifies the passionate Pissant. He’s probably lurking on FR or posting under an ASSumed name. LOL!!!

Not sure, she did though. Would prefer if she’d jump back into the mix, we really need a champion.

I think what ever is best for her at this point, we also have two or three others that has about the same ideas, they can also do the job.
