Romney is the first GOP presidential candidate trying to win the nomination without even a nod to the conservative base. He won’t win.
The Trib will still endorse him on the GOP side.
Sounds accurate and totally plausible to me.
I posted a thread yesterday about Romney beginning to crater, I hope it continues.
I love Kevin DuJan. That’s one gay guy I can tip my hat to.
I had forgotten the “spicy” mayonnaise sandwiches served to bland Romney. Reminded me of how he served CHICKEN chili at some voter event. Bland, bland, bland.
I read it last night and found it interesting. Hillbuzz gets scoops like these right about two thirds of the time, dead wrong on the other third. This one rings true though. After all, how much real loyalty can a hologram inspire anyway?
If you’ve ever been to a Mormon pot-luck dinner, you’d understand why Moot thought these were way too exotic for his taste.
These are some of the most boring, vanilla, un-inventive folks I’ve ever encountered.
Despite the busload of baggage that Newt has, Romney has no fire, no spirit, no fight .... at least none that is apparent. The air of entitlement (it’s my turn to have the nomination) & a lot of his demeanor remind me of Obama somehow and hearing he has Chicago buddies doesn’t help. Newt will fight & can handle Obama & can take the punches from the Lamestream Media. “Brittle” was a good word to describe Romney - I think he has a glass jaw .... all the money in the world won’t buy personal courage and fortitude.
Fair weather friends blowing in the wind.
More like rats leaving a sinking ship.
As opposed to what - blind allegiance based on religion?
Newt’s second book “Environmental Entrepreneurs” is due to be released after the election but I think its fair to expect it to be leaked with most effective timing.
As far as Chicago republicans go, they’re about as conservative as Ann Arbor republicans. Its also important to note that Chicago is ground zero for the whole cap and trade movement.
Everything I ever needed to know about Chicago republicans I learned when they encouraged people to write in Abe Lincoln rather than vote for FReeper Rosanna Pulido.
You’ve never been to a RedNeck Mormon pot-luck dinner, have you? My sister and her family are LDS in Florida. Exotic? No, but very home-grown, filling and savory comfort food.
My post was about Mitt Romney, not Mormons.
I have him taking 3rd, barely, with Bachmann in 4th in my Iowa predictions. But if this sort of talk is real I could easily see him in 4th place.
I have a harder time seeing him lose New Hampshire. He still has a big lead there and it's been consistent so far as I know. I could see his poor showing in Iowa causing him to slip in NH, but to 3rd? That would pretty much require both Gingrich and Paul beating him.
Hmm, if that pans out, this could turn into an extended Gingrich versus Paul nomination contest - not something I've seen _anyone_ write about. I suppose a lot of people would instinctively say Paul doesn't have a chance - but I would have said the same about Gingrich a month ago.
And Paul could field a considerable coalition of libertarians, paleo-conservatives, independents and so on against Gingrich's neo-con 'rump conservative' core. Just how many neo-conservatives are really out there? Forced to choose between the two, we might see 'mainstream' conservatives finally pick principled and consistent conservatism over Gingrichian compromises.
Yes, a hologram, a low, low-intensity of commitment inspiring hologram too if the polls are to be believed: http://www.gallup.com/poll/151022/gingrich-leads-romney-new-low-positive-intensity.aspx
If youve ever been to a Mormon pot-luck dinner, youd understand why Moot thought these were way too exotic for his taste.Yes, and I wonder if a Romney White House would be alcohol and caffeine free. I hope I never get to know.
Fair weather friends blowing in the wind.At some point you have to cut your losses. Didn't Romney himself teach us that as he shipped U.S. jobs and manufacturing capacity to China at the expense of U.S. working families in exchange for retail jobs at Staples or Dominoes Pizza here at home?
