Rommey sounds like he is getting desperate!

The insiders promised him that he would be the nominee but the rank and file Republicans are telling him otherwise.

Nobody cares how many times a candidate has been married and divorced, this isn’t 1950...

Nothing smells so desperate as a self-righteous smuck.

Romney - Dedicated to Felons and Murderers.

Probe: Mitt missed chance to keep Tavares jailed - Could have nixed killer’s early exit

Friday, December 28, 2007 - Boston Herald
"Former Gov. Mitt Romney’s administration failed to act on disciplinary recommendations
that would have kept ex-con killer Daniel Tavares locked up another year -
and behind bars at the time he was accused of killing a newlywed couple in Washington state."

"Despite Tavares’ long history of violence, the Romney-led Department of Correction
took no action on recommendations that he be stripped of “good time” because
of assaults on prison guards in 2003 and 2005, said sources familiar with a state probe into the case."

That headline elicited an “oh, no” gasp. Is there anyone who doesn’t know that Romney is still married to his #1 and that Newt is on #3, having cheated his way there? I may not approve of that aspect of Newt’s past, but if the primary were tomorrow, I’d still vote for him. Let the Cardinals choose the Pope.

I don't know if I'd brag about being married to Planned Parenthood Contributor Ann Romney.

I'd be ashamed of being married to someone who so openly supported with her money (and had fundraisers) to murder children.

What an idiot. He just insulted every American with two marriages.

Mitt doesn't smell so sweet when dripping with desperation. I hope his weave falls out.

He was happily married when he foisted RomneyCare on the people of MA with all its new taxes, new rules, its exchanges, and its mandates. His marriage didn't stop him from signing into the law the program that would become the precedent for ObamaCare. I'm happy that Romney's happily married. Good for him. But I will never vote for him.

I disagree with the tone of this article. I’m really getting tired of candidates who tout something GOOD about themselves getting slammed because some other candidate can’t say the same thing.

I remember when Barbara Bush said something nice about her husband at the 1996 RNC convention, and the media attacked her because it “contrasted” with Bill Clinton.

Romney HAS been married to the same woman all these years. He HAS kept his wedding vows. He shouldn’t be attacked for pointing it out in a field where it is not true of ALL the candidates. It was Gingrich’s CHOICE not to keep his vows.

We attacked Giuliani visciously in 2008 for his multiple marriages. Gingrich should expect no less.

I am very happy for you, Mr. Romney. You obviously chose wisely and have been lucky.

Now, tell me about the whole President thingy...

Romney’s campaign is a joke, just like last time around, when will this guy get it, FOLKS DON’T WANT YOU!!!

You tried to buy the nomination last time, and it failed, and you hoped you could just quielty be coronated this time and its failed.

This is a pathetic ad, if that’s truly what this ad is...

Romney, Newt ain’t exactly a favorite of the hard right either, but you know the one thing he’s been doing and doing consistently??? He’s framed nearly everything he’s done as not an attack on other R’s.. but by contrasting what he would do vs what Obama has done!

You can’t do that, why? You enacted RomneyCare, which was effectively ObamaCare at a state level, so you can’t seperate yourself from Obama on policy, since your policy record wasn’t one of major differences in many areas.

I’ll freely admit, I don’t like you Romney, never have. It’s got nothing to do with your religion, or your success or failure in business.. it has EVERYTHING to do with 2 things, 1) You signed into law legislation that effectively punished people for simply BREATHING!!! You either pay the state, buy insurance, or be punished JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE ALIVE.. that is fundamentally UNACCEPTABLE! 2) You attempted to portray yourself as Reaganesque last election cycle, and it was truly sad. I don’t like when any politician tries to paint themselves as another, period.

However, if you truly have launched an ad simply attacking a guy on the grounds he’s been divorced?? First of all attacking is silly, give voters a REASON you are a better choice, not attack another R.. second, you are tone deaf politically.. yes even in Iowa folks get divorced Romney, it stinks, don’t condone it, but if we are disqualify folks from jobs because they have been divorced, you are going to have an unemployment rate far higher than the real numbers of 17-20%.

Just Wow.

Well at least he is consistent on 1 issue. Too bad for him it is the only consistency in his life.

He never says anything like “unlike others”. Its a bit of a stretch to slam him on this. The ad and response was from a debate trying to counter his flip-flopping. You can critisize him for flip-flopping, but this is hardly a slap at Gingrich.

It’s good for America to see what lowlife Romney is willing to do under pressure.

The man is a sissy.... and he’s frantic.

Reminds me of a skit by Saturday Night Live during the Kennedy-Romney campaign for the Massachusetts senate seat.

The skit explained the difference between them. Mormons have many wives. Kennedy has many wives but one at a time.

Gee, maybe its time to bring Huckabee back with his bit about "LDS? Isn't that the one where Our Lord and Satan are supposed to be brothers or something like that?"

I'm not big on divorce or adultery. Newt managed to get two annulments from the Catholic Church for try #3. In #1, he was married to his high school geometry teacher. I might be willing to give him a pass on that (whether FReepers would have found her "guilty" or not at the time.) I don't know if #2 was coming off of a divorce herself. If so, that would be grounds for annulment.

Unless his diocese is an annulment mill (and if he is in Arlington, it isn't), I would give him a pass on the marriage issue, just leaving the adultery. Bad, but not lethal if he's cleaned up his act. Much better to sin and repent than to spread sin through the world.

No, he isn't the best, but he's SO much better than Romney.
