So Rabs, what is your personal opinion of Freddie Mac and the people that work there?

My opinion is they all need to be investigated for fraud, from the CEO to the janitor, you would agree, wouldn’t you?

Imagine all those peon employees going around conning the public with “we make homes possible” slogans.

Newt 'once said'? When did he say it? Even Freddie and Fannie, had their 15 minutes of fame; per doing a good job. Just not anymore than that. . .So when; when; did he utter this unfortunate observation; not knowing it might come back to haunt him?

And/or was Newt in a 'post op' state. . .delirious with Calista? OR. . .What?

They work very well in eliminating inefficiencies and completing projects on time and on budget.

It may be time to set the whiskey bottle and joint down now. Your remarks are becoming very strange and irrational.

Are public -private partnerships better or wore than government run organizations?

Public private partnerships don't take the place of private companies providing the same but if complete government bereaucracies. Moreover, anyone who thinks these partnerships won't exist or be supported under Perry, Palin, Romney, Cain, pick your candidate, are truly naive. And they're a he'll of alot better than a 100% government run program.

find me a government in the last 100 years that hasn't had public-private partnerships??

I agree. He is paid by Fanny and Freddie to represent their interests. What is he to say? What they ask him to say. Newt’s was a private company. He wasn’t asked to look out for us, he was asked to look out for them. There are plenty in the media throwing these stones. Did any of them even attempt to do some investigative reporting on Fannie and Freddie? didn’t think so. Boy, are they quick to overlook their part in this in order to blame Newt for doing exactly what? Representing an enterprise he was paid to represent?

So Newt said something a few years ago that maybe now he would think otherwise? You don't say?! Gosh, humans, and especially politicians NEVER do that! How shocking! You know, you lost any credibility with your attacks on Sarah Palin. She wasn't conservative enough for you, so there's maybe, what 3 people on the face of earth good enough for you? And let me guess...none of them have a chance to be President, do they?

I have noticed that for some odd reason you anti-Newters bring out statements from years ago, but completely ignore his legislative record, especially as Speaker of the House. Since politicians are famous for saying one thing and doing another, I am MUCH more concerned about what they actually DID than what they SAID. Isn't that the most important thing? Sure, I wish politicians, especially republicans, never said anything that made me uncomfortable, but it REALLY pisses me off when they DO something wrong.

Could it be that you don't want to discuss Newt's legislative record as SOH because it's a laundry list of conservative accomplishments? Naaaah, that can't be it, can it?

These programs need to be abolished. The government doesn’t need to be in business. period. ever.

Run the housing market into the ground and walk away with tens of millions of dollars.

We need to privatize it all. No government. No givernment loan guarantees or anything.

"We need to privatize it all. No government."

And you think that is going to happen over night with one election? Look, it decades for the libs to make the progress they have, it's going to take a long time to undo it. If that is even possible. Newt will change the trajectory of the country, that is all we can realistically hope for at this point. That is precisely why obumber is so vulnerable now, he tried to do too much too quickly.

The Unions are what killed the Post Office.

Congress and Clinton killed Fannie and Freddie.

Their default rate until the Community Reinvestment Act was on par with private traditional mortgages.

Newt will not change anything. He believes in government “answers” to our problems. It’s that simple.

On the contrary, Lazlo. I've seen them work well on the state and local level. Not every PPP is part of the inefficient and corrupt cesspool known as Washington DC.

Several of the country's largest construction projects were PPPs that came in on time and under budget.

Ask anyone who grew up in NY what it was like to go through the NY DMV in the 1980's, before PPP, versus the NY DMV AFTER moving to a PPP.

Here in my area, a PPP was able to build a beautiful community theater that the City couldn't afford on it's own; so a not-for-profit was created to oversee it and raise private funds for it. Came together on time and on budget (something Washington is not capable of, period).

He believes in government “answers” to our problems.

What's truly scary is all the conservatives here defending "public-private partnerships" otherwise known as crony capitalism or, in some cases, outright fascism.

That right there should tell you all you need to know about Newt Gingrich.
