(Typos corrected)

Yes, thanks for the correction. They'll have to go to your home and try to figure out what to take next. And you will be in some trouble if you don't have Rottweilers and lots of guns and ammo like I have at my home, way out here in the woods.

Good luck to you.

Yeah, I did that on a small-scale back at the start of 2009 (without the firearms). I live in an area prone to earthquakes, flooding and frequent power outages, I just wanted enough stuff to be able to get the family through an initial week of disruption until order was restored, rather than Armageddon which to my mind no one can actually sufficiently plan for.

In a great big sealable plastic tub I stored tinned goods, cooking oil, pasta and noodle packets along with basic medical supplies, a bottle of water sanitizer, batteries, torches and a big sack of rice. I put it all under the stairs.

In the middle of 2010 I took it out, the rice was inedible having gone black, the cans of food were rusted and blown, the water sanitizer had leaked over the batteries and torches hopelessly corroding them. Only the plastic wrapped dry goods and cooking oil remained.

If you’re going to go for the disaster-room thing you really need to keep rotating stuff out of it and watching the supplies, which is something that to be honest most of us can’t be bothered doing till it’s too late.

Well, a collapse has been supposed to happen for the past decade, but it kept getting postponed through more loans and more credit. More of everything and now the entire world is getting dragged down because we refuse to let others fall on their face.

No one would learn anything about managing finances though and I don’t see how forgiveness would end up with anything other than people going right back to their old irresponsible lifestyles. If a lot of people hadn’t been able to get more loans and had been left to fail, I am more than sure that we wouldn’t be getting dragged down as badly.
