The same people who supported McCain will support Romney until he loses to Barry. Then they’ll support RINO Christie when he loses to Hitlery or some other Dem.
The Pundits that write and talk about what is going on, go to these nameless insiders to get their information.
If you are known enough to party leadership, even at the local level, to call and talk to the candidates, those in Congress, elected state reps, etc, and get them to talk to you, you are an insider.
Add Bill Kristol, even Charles Krauthammar(not sure of spelling for the Kraut) and the unknowns in the eastern Rockefeller GOP establishment. Also, the Bushes, “Colon” Powell, Condi Rice.
Virtually the entire organizational structure.
The defeat against RINOism begins locally.
Add Bill Kristol and Charles Krauthammar(spelling?); also, “Colon” Powell, Condi Rice, the Bushes, any Rockefeller GOP’er you can think of, McCain, Grahamnesty, Rove, and the staffs that suck up to these types, and that would be a good addition to your selections.
Chuckie K is the Lefts’ most intelligent useful idiot.
The reason that we were left with McCain, Huckabee, and Romney at the end of the 2008 primary season is that (gasp!) millions of Republicans voted for them because they thought those were the best candidates.
Not because they were subject to secret mind control rays from Karl Rove, Bill Kristol and George Will.
Now, if you want to avoid a similar result in 2012, the way to do so is to go out and talk up conservative candidates with all your moderate Republican and independent friends.
And if you don't have any of those friends - if you'd rather spend your time in the conservatives-only echo chamber, whining about how you'll hold your breath till you turn purple if "they" force Romney on us -
then you are a big part of the problem.

GOP Empire’s Plan to Crush Tea Party Rebels
Odd how this thread matches up with the GOP Establishment’s PR Machine Rule 1.
Deny they are the Establishment
My point being that moderates and independents have to be convinced to vote for conservative candidates.
The conservative base of which FR is a part just is not big enough on its own, and may never be.

Yes, I see they have their zippers down, must be expecting buyalick to show up.
I’m unpleasantly amazed that no fire-breathing, temple-razing Constitutionalist stepped forward.
Now we’re going into the primary election season with a weak slate, meaning the winner of the primaries — and therefore the candidate for 2012 — will be weak on hardcore conservative values. Sad.
And given the options of "massive conspiracy to gimmick the nomination process" or "clueless Republican primary voters" I have made my choice as to what is the least complex explanation.
Oh ye of little faith...
When Hell threatens true Americans reach for Heaven...and get it!
You ain’t Tea Party are you?
I’m sorry but your naivety is amazing. NO amount of talking about the candidates with friends and neighbors by Freepers will off set millions of dollars in free adverting Fox News pumps out every day tearing down the Conservative candidate and puffing up the RINOs.
Maybe yes, maybe no. But one thing is for sure. Spending all day on FR whining about how I’ll “get even” if Romney is the nominee (not saying you are in that crowd, but lots of freepers seem to be there) would be an even worse investment of my time.
Hannity is a phony conservative like Mark Davis of DFW radio.
