Hypocrisy in this era is as common as noses. We are going to have to accept that both the voters and their candidates are flawed. The point is dealing with the hand dealt, given the moral condition of the nation.
As time goes by, Republicans are going to cut to the chase and coalesce around the ONE candidate, who can do TWO things with perfect political timing; 1) beat Romney, and, 2) compete evenly, or exceed Obama in polling numbers (and in all the right states) Now is not yet that time.
Newt Gingrich wont release his Freddie Mac records

What is there to hide, just doing history lessons????
Ok, you support crony capitalism, be proud of it. I don’t.

I can’t wait to see the history lessons..
Stick a fork in Newt he is done. Even if he manages to win the GOP nomination there is no way he wins now.
All the 0 campaign will have to do if Newt is our nominee is run this clip in the swing states the last week in Oct 2012.
Newt worked for them until 2008. The crash came in 2008.
Sorry not going to work demanding one standard for the candidates you like and a different one for the ones you don't.
So, would you rather Gingrich break the law by breaking his confidentiality agreement w/ Freddie? He’s contractually bound to NOT release those records.
Should he just leak them as an anonymous source? You’re sounding more & more liberal as we go on here. Aren’t we the party of the”rule of Law”?
BTW, I'm pretty much neutral. I don't mind give and take both ways as long as it is from a conservative perspective and not FReepers using liberal hatchet jobs. So I don't have an issue raising Newt's taking Freddie money, he needs to be forthcoming about it.
However, if you truly believed in what you were telling others on the Cain threads, IMO you would not be so quick to join in bashing Newt here. Now that Newt is climbing, using your own stated standards on FR, it comes across just as opportunistic as Perry supporters bashing Cain when he was rising in the polls.
I proudly support capitalism. Apparently you do not by your statements. To each his own.
You forced me to do this....Newt is BigGovernment

Newt Gingrich on Bailout: “Reluctantly ... Yes”

So,........who cares? Who is it that they are NOT going to run an opposition destruction campaign against? Newt’s baggage is at least already now exposed, as is Perry’s, Cain’s and Romney’s. Whose guess is the most prepared for political warfare right now? Cain? Don’t think so. Perry? Nope. Romney? Yes. Newt? Oh, yes.
Was Reagan “big government”? I could list a bunch of non conservative articles about Reagan & amnesty, gun control, raising taxes, divorce, cozy relationship at times w/ Tip O’Niel, endorsing RINO’s, etc., etc.
What’s more important, his positions back then, or where he will lead the country now?
Human nature is what it is. We are known by our ox, and obviously the defensive/offensive attacks depend entirely on whose is getting gored. On FR, we learn to keep our ox in the barn until time to trot him out. Otherwise, the mutual destruction society emerges and is foolishly unfriendly. I know. I have also been guilty.
On this day, the facts are that Cain has peaked, Rick has crashed, Newt is moving and Romney is static, and Paul, Bachman, Santorum remain....well,....they remain Paul, Bachman, and Santorum.
