Everyone should read this article. It brings up interesting facts in the case and ties everything together.
This was not the secret that they are trying to make out now, one person involved in the inquiry said. I know there were a number of college coaches that had heard the rumors. If all these people knew about it, how could Sanduskys superiors not know?

The lesson learned here is that a code of silence, even if practiced informally; is evil.
Two reasons: evil doers need to be punished and future victims need to be protected.
Any institution that is not now examining whether a code of silence exists and not proactively preventing same; does so at its risk of existence.

This Courtney guy is the counsel to BOTH the University AND Sandusky’s pervert organization? Wouldn’t that be a HUGE conflict of interest?
From what I’ve read so far, looks like he’s part of the cover-up and enabling also.
This story just gets sicker and sicker...
I’m with Sarah Palin about the rope!

I just don't understand what Paternos excuse is. One of the thories going around is that Paterno got his power from having the goods on everyone.
That is to say, he would blackmail all the sleazy university types into making him the king of Penn State. The coaching job was just a way to get money to him.

If his victims were to be prosecuted, he would no longer have any power over them.

The underlying lesson here is that you don't deafy an effing football coach! This guy pulls on his pants every day just like the rest of us and should not have been given the lofty status ( along with all the money) that the university conferred on him. My guess is that he began a long time ago to believe his own bullsh!t! To me, it does not matter what he did “for” Penn State. Or that he's in his 80’s. He needs to suffer greatly for allowing this to go on for so many years when he had the means to stop it and didn't.

I think there is a lot more to come out. So do I. I'm hoping I'm wrong in thinking it's as bad as fear it could be.
There definitely was a cover up at the highest levels at PSU.

this confirms what I hoping was not true.
Joe knew exactly what happened. When he “reported” it - he downplayed the gravity of what happened.
He washed his hands and did no follow up.
He also perjured himself to the Grand Jury.
The only reason he was not arrested was out of courtesy.

Also at the Mile thing. The Governor said they had to give the 2 mil.so as to not tip their hand but took it back later.Makes you think about Gricar.According to some of our posters He was to meet someone from Penn State that night he went missing. What is going on and why is there nothing on the internet about the search of Penn State that night in 05.

And then there's this:
Ray Gricar's older brother, Roy, disappeared from his West Chester, Ohio, home in May 1996. His body was found a week later in the Great Miami River; authorities ruled his death a suicide. And then there's this thread about What could End Rush Limbaugh's Career.
