I'm confused too. If what you said is true, why didn't the father report the incident to the police? If there's any secondary blame here, it's the father, not Paterno, he did what he was supposed to do.
Interesting, you seem to have no problem with folks allowing a known predator to continue to molest children. You say that we should only focus on the actual perp. But the ones who knew and did NOTHING(Penn State) or the ones who knew an moved the perp to some new parish to molest again(catholic church) has an obligation to ensure those actions do not happen again.
Even Pontius Pilate attempted to wash his hands of Jesus’ death, in these cases, many folks were perfectly happy going about their business with VERY dirty hands.
Joe Paterno was given information about a child pervert who used the illustrious institution of Penn State to sexual assault young boys. He did NOT do the right thing. That is all we need to know. The Catholic Church can explain the errors of your thinking to you. Paterno became responsible when he was informed of the sexual abuse....HE had the obligation to call the cops on his own coaching staff. HE failed that young boy and many others. Paterno deserves to be fired. In NY state he would be arrested. It’s a crime, not sure of PA laws, but it should be the same. Protecting our children is the responsibility of all of us.
Not like the Catholic church scandal at all; the charge here is foreable rape of preteen boys.
I doubt very seriously if politics has much to do with this CF. Paterno needs to be gone as well as his entire staff, the president of the university and anyone who condoned this mess. These people knew that children were being sodomized. No excuses, none.
The law in Arizona requires immediate reporting to law enforcement or you are prosecuted, as well. In PA telling your boss is sufficient?! Liberal Dem Homosexual favoring power elites...
Child rape. This is the one instance I could understand citizens marching on a campus and taking over the president’s office to demand justice. It’s too much to tolerate that any of them keep their jobs or their perks.
