Neither. You don’t bury survivors.

Epica is absolutely one of the best bands ever. Simone has the most beautiful voice (right up there with Tarja Turunen). This song is especially amazing:

Yep the Ox has been missed. Amazing Bass player.

Catch this YouTube: John Entwistle Bass Solo (5:15)

Alice Cooper- Vincent Furnier- my cousin Mike knew him well. Their bands toured together in Arizona and shared musicians before Alice hit the big time. IIRC Alice’s drug of choice was beer.

I just let one of my girls borrow Abigail, one my favorite metal albums of all time. Listening to Motörhead now.

I’ve found that most metalheads are just drinkers. Some are, well, alcoholics (myself included), but I’ve never been to a metal concert and smelled pot or seen anyone popping pills. Most of us just like the fast music and the frenetic atmosphere.

I’m thinking I might like Alice Cooper, and I’m gonna give him another listen.

That was fun. At about 3/4 thru the song he starts futzing with the E string and behind the neck, did John have a d-dropper on his E string?

I’ve seen The Who twice and he was awesome them along with the rest of the band. The second time I think the drummer was Ringo’s son, he was way good.

METAL PING!!!

My metal taste never really included “GWAR.”

Prayers and condolences to the band and the next of kin.

Thanks for the heads up, Captain Beyond.

You go to some of these new age rock or punk concerts, and you’ve got assholes with nails in their boots and full on brawls in the middle of the crowds.

What about Hip-Hop and Rap venues? Shootings and stabbings are expected.

He had a number of custom-built Warwick basses, like the gold sparkle below. Yes, it had a d-dropper. As you can see from the YouTube, he was pretty good at using it. :-)

Thanks, I figured that’s what it was but maybe the tone was so low I couldn’t hear it when he used it. He was an expert base player and musician. He was however, extremely bad with money, that’s why the rest of the Who agreed to do a tour I think it was early 90s.

"Believe it or not, the metal community is very much against drug use."

Totally believable. When I was in high school, none of us 'metal heads' used drugs, or even drank much alcohol. We typically made fun of those who did.

Was talking more about concerts that I would actually go to.

I worked as a bouncer at an urban nightclub. I can confirm that you are correct. Drug use, rapes, assaults, they’re all de rigeur at urban venues.

Definite neo-classical influence. Great band and great music.

Reminds me a little of Sepultura. They’re a Brazilian metal band, but they don’t use the classical influence. They’re more tribal metal.
