Blacks have a very unique way of speech. And no, I'm not a speechist.
She was elderly, so there's another demographic.
...so what makes Politico any more credible than Weekly World News?
I’ve said from the start that I believe the charge is bogus. Go back to the very first thread that was posted about this and you will see that I did.
I’m simply bringing up that Cain could have handled the accusation better and I still think so.
Why are you so offended that I recalled Cain saying something like ‘he hoped they weren’t paid too much because their charge was false.’
What’s wrong with that?
If people give any indication that Cain might have made a misstep or too, you people go ape.
You didn’t answer my question.
How is your lying helping your candidate?
I have a car insurance company, and when they settle claims, they always send me a letter letting me know what happened.
Are you saying that Cain would have a law firm that specifically did NOT report the results of their work?
Because an HR / harassment situation is JUST LIKE a car crash?
It is entirely possible he was removed from acting on this case, with it put in the hands of HR and organization counsel, so that emotion would be removed from the settlement calculus.
No, I’m saying I don’t think he is bound by a non-disclosure agreement. Cain never said he was; he said he didn’t know there was a settlement. I was opining on another freeper’s speculation that Cain couldn’t talk because he was bound by a non-disclosure agreement.
A lot of us said that when supporters of other candidates attacked Perry and called him a RINO and worse.
This is from NBC. “If the restaurant association did a settlement, I wasn’t even aware of it,” he claimed, “and I hope it wasn’t for much.”
You still didn’t answer my question.
How does lying help your candidate?
In fact, it seems that was exactly what happened, as there WAS a settlement, and he said he had no knowledge of it.
I would have expected he’d be removed from acting on the case. I wouldn’t expect he’d have no interest at all in how it was dealt with. If he said he never knew of the allegations, then it would make sense. But he says he did know.
If you had allegations of harrassment against you, wouldn’t you have some interest in how it was dealt with? It just seems odd that he had no interest, and was surprised there was a settlement.
