That’s part of what’s been driving his success. He’s not a part of the establishment, he’s running against it and his pro-growth economic proposals have helped him establish credibility. All that the politicians offer is more of what voters have heard in the past.
Bachmann faded faster than I thought she would. What is it that gives Cain a more commanding presence? It’s undeniable that he has it. But their policies were not that dissimilar.
Anyhow, Bachmann might be wise to throw her support to Cain without letting things drag on for months first. Cain might return the gesture by nominating her as the veep.
You want to balance the party’s wings. Whoever wins the nomination is going to end up nominating a candidate acceptable to the other wing. We’re going to end up with a RINO on the ticket. Even Reagan did it with Bush.
Of course that’s up to Cain and he might defy the conventional wisdom again. Actually I hope he does, because he’s spoken well of the Waffle Hut and if he wants a RINO... it’s uncomfortably possible. Yes, Mitt.
He would have leveled off, because, while there are many Conservatives pissed at the GOP, they aren’t the majority.
He has some genuine supporters. And if Cain had some severe skeletons, Romney or Perry would have found them by now.
Spot on. If I was Bachmann’s advisor, that is precisely what I’d suggest she do.
I was saying it back some months ago:
Cain to Erase Obama Pain.
Cain/Allen; Hope for National Pride Again.
I could go on...
"There's a new sheriff in town boys and he's a rais'n CAIN!" |
Copied your post, to ping the Cain-Train.. best I could do.
Good night.
;~ )!
RINOs are the right wing of the Democrap Party.
Let them cater to it.
Cain should nominate a Ryan or a Bachmann, someone AT LEAST as solid as he is.
The rest are cabinet fodder, at best.
Bachmann was press bombed with a series of apparent gaffes, most of which could survive scrutiny if you got past sound byte politics. The MSM along with some other candidate's supporters somehow branded her as stupid, and her credibility has suffered. From there, it has been easy for the MSM to push her off to the side.
It remains a powerful tactic to brand someone a 'kook' or 'dumb', and the media were happy to jump on any chance to do so, as was the GOP establishment.
Hey, sweetest GF!
I’m happy I spotted you, right before I put my computer machine to sleep!
Good night!!!
Not so fast... Romney only has 25% in all polls... It does not grow... While Cain is picking up the Conservative votes..
So as the candidates drop Cain picks up all their voters while flip flop Romney remains the same.
This is the election of the Tea Party and another John McCain type flip flop Romney ain’t going to cut it.
Rest assured if the Republican elite manage to get that Liberal Romney in there will be a third party candidate.
It will also be the beginning of the end of the Republican party. They have sold conservatives and everyone knows it.
That’s GOOD!
Bachmann sometimes comes across as a Barbie doll in some of her statements.
Add to that her tendency to get severe migraines. If the SHTF, in terms of Iran, Russia or China, you can’t have the president down because of a sudden headache.
Her statement that gays can change was politically unwise. It may be scientifically valid, which it is, but it’s not politically correct. It comes across as moonbatlike.
I personally think she should stay as a congressman. That’s where she’s most useful, imo.
Hey hey.. sweet dreams!
Precisely.
Bachmann simply isn’t up to the job. That’s really all there is to it. It’s not just about agreeing on the issues—which is of course required. But I know plenty of people who have the right positions on the issues, but I sure wouldn’t want them in the White House.
Cain has the intellect, the personality, the character for the job—it’s something a person HAS or DOES NOT HAVE. You can’t hope someone to have, or want someone to have it because you really really want her to have it to show Chris Matthews up, or because we would love to have a conservative woman nominee.
I had such hopes for Bachmann, but she has demonstrated that while she may have character and be on the right side of the issues, she has neither the intellect nor the personality to handle the job. She babbles, she goes off on tangents, she goes on Leno and just deflates.
Cain simply HAS the qualities required. We don’t have to cringe and hope he beats this one or that one. I have taken exception to some things he’s said, he’s been unprepared for certain questions, he isn’t perfect in some interviews, he’s stumbled from time to time...
But none of that matters. One can have flaws without being fatally flawed. None of the errors he’s made have been ones that can’t be fixed easily, and they are for the most part about presentation on TV. Who cares?
He has it, she doesn’t. It’s that simple.
