Well you didnt actually think Congress would support a real and true BBA, did you?

Handing out money is how most of these people keep getting re-elected. They dont want to end that gravy train.

Boner has been a huge major disappointment . . . but on the other hand, who could have expected this RINO to have changed because of what happened a year ago. He and Romney and McLame and McConnell and Perry, etc., are nothing more or less than dummycrats-lite . . . an absolute disgrace. I would like to see Boner tossed out of office next November. I hope Ohio has a primary that gives us a chance to get rid of him.

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) indicated at a press briefing Thursday that the House Republican leadership is not ruling out the possibility that it will support a balanced budget amendment that does not cap federal spending as a percentage of Gross Domestic Product or require a supermajority in Congress to increase taxes.

DOA in the House!!

Boehner's "crocodile" tears won't convince the Tea Party members to "go along just to get along"!! Boehner has lost his marbles and needs to lose his job in just over 12 months!!!

It may be a "weak" Balanced Budget Amendment, but I'd take that over none at all. I think that the limit on federal government spending (as a percent of GDP) is a good idea, but I'll suggest that it be proposed as a separate amendment.

That would decouple fiscal responsibility from the size of the federal government, and the states can decide whether to ratify one or the other, or both. There might even be a different set of states voting for ratification of each.

What should the threshold be? For political reasons, I'll suggest 20 percent, because Republicans can't be demagogued for exceeding it while they controlled Congress. However, it might only be symbolic anyway, because unless the methodology for calculating GDP is spelled out, it will just be manipulated anyway.

We have to actually have a leader before we go after a new one.

This serves to point out the falicy in a BBA. Stupid idea.

What we really need are responsible Representatives.

Know where we can find some?

What’s the difference between a Democrat an a RINO??

The Democrat says “tax, borrow and spend”.

The RINO’s (like Boehner) say “borrow, borrow and spend”.

Render unto Ceasar’s what is Ceasar’s...

This is de facto a call to nationalize the entire economy, whereby we will be forced to accept worthless currency as IOU empowered paper against the producer while foreign barbarians will be paid in gold, patents, factories and weapons for tribute.

We are selling our ropes to hang ourselves.

That may be why the Congressional Republicans have a 22% approval rating.
