I must confess surprise that this question is asked by a FReeper because I believe that the authentic conservatism of Herman Cain is readily apparent from his many inspiring speeches like this one at the Value Voters Summit [no teleprompter], hundreds (thousands?) of FR threads and his conservative activism as a Tea Party favorite: Herman Cain rallies the Tea Party in Madison, WI.
But since you asked, heres a quick (and far from complete) overview of my personal belief in Herman Cains authentic conservatism, which IMHO must contain all three legs of the Reagan Coalition stool .
Social conservatism
Herman Cain Backs Human Life Amendment
Herman Cain Picks Clarence Thomas as Model for Supreme Court Appointees
Is Herman Cain Pro-Life? (Dr. Alveda King)
National Defense Conservatism
Video- Cain: "You Mess with Israel, You are Messing with the United States. It's that Simple"
The Cain Mutiny
You Don't Need Foreign Policy Experience To Know Who Your Friends Are
Fiscal Conservatism
Herman Cain on Occupy Wall Street: They want handouts
Paul Ryan loves Herman Cains 9-9-9 tax plan
TeaCon establishes Herman Cain as a real candidate
Herman Cain is authentically conservative on all three legs and he can articulate his conservatism effectively to obtain the necessary votes in the general election.
Not a hand went up. Two people said they would want to know who Cains vice presidential running mate would be. Four said they would feel as comfortable with Cain as with Obama, but they were all Republicans eager to see an end to the Obama presidency."
“..don’t you think your time would be better spent supporting your candidate and explaining why he would be a better president than Rick Perry?”
Gov. Perry is so far behind in the polls that there is no point. It’s sort of like explaining why he would or would not be a better candidate than Sarah Palin. Gov. Perry is at that “put a fork in him” stage, but for whatever reason has decided to stay in the race.
The time would be better spent discussing why Mr. Cain would be a good President.
I dont usually watch utube videos ( yes I know I spelled it wrong ) because I have dial up so it’s not often that I will wait for a video to download. Hate dial up.
I guess what I was getting at is people can say whatever they want to say , whenever they want to say it but should we count that as “proof in the pudding” so to speak ? Ya know what I mean ?
In another conversation recently, I stated that I had heard him before subbing for Rush or Hannity or Levin but cant remember exactly which show I heard him on. It’s been a few months or so.
And again, I dont read a lot of the Cain threads because it makes me nauseous that nastiness of some of his supporters ( all others suck and you suck too if you dont support Cain ). I almost feel at times like I’m reading the DUmmies.
I appreciate the time and the links you provided and your personal belief. That’s why I asked, is because I’ve come to respect you.
I also do not watch much TV. No cable or satelite ( too cheap to pay for that crap ) so I get most of my news from Beck, Rush, Hannity and Levin and Billy Cunningham and here at FR. I know it’s not the Demoncrap spin on it like the letter networks.
Blessings to you and yours~ and again, Thank you ~
