would you like to pay 20$ for a hamburger at McDonalds?

Socialism (Obamacare) will directly lead to massive price increases.

Or do you think there is a Santa Claus?

“despite being Governor of the state for 10 years, cannot even persuade a majority of his own Texas state party to vote for him?”

Wow, I didn’t know anyone voted yet!

“Perry can’t stand Obama and I think that is the main reason he is running. Obama administration has done a lot to hurt TX anyway they can. Perry and Obama have a hate-hate relationship.”

I remember reading some story about how Obama came to Texas and Perry tried to approach him about something, probably federal border help, and Obama was arrogant and dismissed him.

Newt would be an effective arm-twister to deal with Congress for Cain. Newt probably would not be palatable at the top of a ticket, but Cain-Gingrich may work.

My guess? The Democrats so-called "patients bill of rights" was seen by National Restaurant Association members as a risk of increased health care costs.

Perry gave him a letter as Obama got off AF 1 and Obama more or less dismissed him and handed the letter to an aide. IIRC, the letter was about border security...but not sure. BO has done so much!

Mr. Cain ran the National Restaurant Association, a once-sleepy trade group that he transformed into a lobbying powerhouse. He allied himself closely with cigarette makers fighting restaurant smoking bans, spoke out against lowering blood-alcohol limits as a way to prevent drunken driving, fought an increase in the minimum wage and opposed a patients’ bill of rights — all in keeping with the interests of the industry he represented.

Evil restaurants! Cain's strategy should be to personalize this with restaurant names. Like saying "That's right...that's why you can have $1.00 hamburgers at McDonalds. That's why you can have all the soft drinks you care to drink for $1.49 at Burger King. That's why you can have a $5.00 foot long at Subway."

Cain said something one time that when he headed up the NRA - they were trying to do a restaurant industry HSA type plan. I don’t remember exactly what he said, but it might have to do with that.

“Those two might make a great team, with Newt’s political shrewdness complementing Cain’s citizen-reformer personality. Newt might help wrestle Congress into passing a conservative agenda.”

It’d make a great ticket for those reasons - and they seem to genuinely like one another. I get really tired of so many on here who persist in saying Herman’s only in this to a) pave the way for Romney the way Huck did for McCain, OR b) to be VP for Romney (or anyone else). That’s just not the way Herman’s conducted his life or career.

He’s in it to win it - that’s who he is.

Not just that, but remember how devastating the wildfires in TX were this summer? Perry had formally written a letter to BHO pleading for help with the disaster. He never even received a reply back from the WH.

“I also like Cain and Perry.”

That would make an interesting ticket as well.
