I am a lawyer in TN and I've noted that the law and order types are happy to ignore individual liberties in the name of catching criminals. The act of driving around and randomly running plates is completely acceptable)(I think I once had a debate with LEO here about this).

There is a County near me known as "The Constitution-Free Zone". When the Bonnaroo concert happens every year, having an out of state tag and a car with several young people is probable cause for a stop.

One thing that always concerns me about the awareless or the plain lack of caring regarding these matters is this: If I were to post a thread about say Alec Baldwin saying something negative about Republicans/Conservatives/Sarah Palin/Rick Perry/etc. there would be a hundred replies in an hour.

Posting a thread about a topic such as this, it will be lucky to hit 100 replies in a few days. I hope I'm wrong with this particular thread.

I don’t think they’re going to pay that much attention to the reports. This feels more like a way to recruit union truck drivers into an unofficial ‘security detail’. We know they’re not looking for Muslims - so who are they looking for? From the Public Service Announcement out of Homeland - I’d say they’re looking for white middle class men - and women. Conservatives... Look at the videos they put out - it tells a story.
