I suppose a paycheck from anyone is better than a check from no one.

If she had been Cain's Iowa state campaign director, wouldn't she be the one Herman Cain would appeal to to get things up and running? Hire her back. Wouldn't she be knocking on his door instead of Santorum's campaign which isn't fairing well?

We cannot know the circumstances of this lady's departure from the Cain Campaign back in June, nor do we know what hiring Cain has done since. If Mr. Cain has someone else in place who has been there for four months and is working out well then there simply may not be an appropriate position available for this lady to return to, however good she might be. On the other hand, maybe she wasn't working out well before, or maybe the fact that she left when she did is seen by Team Cain as disqualifying. We can't know. All we know is that she used to work for one campaign and now she works for a different one.

Yup. Cain has some circumstantial resemblance to Huckabee. The lay of the land is a little different, but Cain is the underfunded insurgent picking up grass roots support in a weak field of RINOs and not-ready-for-prime-timers.

I think Huckabee was a smoother politician than Cain. Very good interpersonally and off the cuff. Puts on just enough airs. But he had a record. That was his problem.

Cain is more brash. It appears he has a high likability factor, always a plus. And he has no record, other than talking on the radio and writing some columns. So he has a much easier task in grabbing the Tea Party vote. He just has to say the right things.

No two states have a more inflated sense of self importance than Iowa and New Hampshire.

Mark my words: Florida will be the key state. Whoever wins there will win the nomination.

I know. That’s why I said why NOW?

Because Rick Perry is a phony, corrupt, lying, pandering, imbecile.

If Herman Cain is on a roll, why would she make the move NOW to join Santorum’s campaign?

We don't know. But if we're guessing... b/c Cain is changing and let her announce instead making the announcement about firing her first.

Huckabee is a socially-conservative, big-government nanny-statist. That was his problem in 2008 and in this, the election cycle of the tea party movement, it is utterly disqualifying. We demand someone who is going to cut spending and shrink the federal government.

Why pay someone, when all they can do is carry out the whipped people like perry, heck, let his own staff carry him out.

Goff is one of three Iowa staffers that resigned from the Cain campaign in June ...

June? Santorum?! Desperation does not become you.

I think it is likely that the staffers put great stock in the Ames poll and Cain didn’t. They were using conventional wisdom, which says that Ames is THE spot where a 2nd tier candidate can jump to first tier with a good showing.

Cain obviously felt that wasn’t true this cycle and has since been proven right. The person who spent the bucks to win Ames is now languishing down with the 3rd tier candidates like Rick Perry, while Cain is leading.

I have had the situation where someone isn’t working out and have had to let them go.

Correct. I've been on both sides of that equation. The most recent was about a decade ago when I thought the employer was being terribly unfair and just shedding an older worker. Still, I took the severance package offered and gave them the resignation letter. They gave me a good letter of recommendation and I landed a comparable job two months later.

In the end, there is no point in working where you aren't wanted, no matter how stupid the reasons.

When I was in management in a previous life and had to let people go who were decent people but just not performing to expectations, I always had a nice letter of recommendation prepared to hand them at the exit interview. Not one of those people ever came back to haunt the organization. It was only the jerks who got shown the door for gross malfeasance.

One staffer IN IOWA leaves Cain’s team...and this is a news story? Puh-leeze. Grasping at straws? Maybe you should lay off the coffee a little bit. I didn’t attack you OR my former Senator. We share a common foe and it isn’t any of the Republican canidates.

Goff, who will manage operations in central Iowa for the Santorum campaign

I know very little about the author or Goff. However, this articles leaves me with many questions that make me wonder as to the author's intent in writing it and your intent in posting it.

Did Santorum not have someone managing operations in Central Iowa? If Goff is better than the person who was in that position why didn't Santorum snap her up four months ago? If this is a new position then was Santorum really as committed to Iowa as Goff claims?

No big deal...both are non-electable but one sings better.

You two perrywinkles love to smash the Herminator to try to advance the guy who OKs the paying of tax payer money to ILLEGAL ALIENS.

I like perry compared to obama and even compared to mittens, but he is a crappy debater and obama would kick his ass all over the stage, and he is weak on ILLEGAL ALIENS, and he has his hand in the cookie jar, but he is better than the one.

Why is Herman non-electable?

The person who posted this is a Rick Perry supporter who is desperate to smear Cain any way she can. That’s what Grunthor was talking about. He wasn’t going after Santorum.

He was merely making a comment that CW’s candidate is such a joke that he has slipped down into the 4th tier approaching poll parity with Buddy Roemer. Because of that, CW is grasping at straws like this meaningless article.

She left Cain in June and NOW as Cain is all over the news and polling well, she joins Santorum's campaign?

Hey, no problem, Herman will just sing a song, say a prayer, bake a pizza and tell everyone about “999”.

Iowa is Cain country.
