Do you have an account with Google?
Google news is asking me to sign in.
I do, but I'm not signed in. The browser isn't even aware of it.
I use Firefox, and it clears the cache, history, cookies, etc. every time I shut it down. So, I start with a "clean slate" every time I launch a new instance.
Google remembers your password from your IP address.
No, it doesn't. When I log out, I have to log back in just like anyone else.

Maybe you have something blocking it. Some virus software can do it.
I have Ghostery. I block my IP all over the place.
