Far too many people here put Palin up on a pedestal and thought she could walk on water and do no wrong.

- - - - -
Exactly. And when someone pointed it out to them, they were attacked, labeled stupid and a PDser, and their Christianity questioned.

I just want to take a moment to thank so many on this thread for providing some comic relief today. I like Palin well enough, but was always taken aback by the emotional level of support from many of her supporters. You have not let me down.

One of my favs: "I'm so disappointed and I don't know why". May I recommend a trip to Wall Street?

The many comments about how "America is OVER!" (because Palin is not running). Seriously? She is the ONLY hope for America?

Other LOLz came from comments like: "we bought her books, and, and, supported her n' stuff! She OWES us!" Send her an invoice.

"Her making this announcement without a pre-announcement VIOLATES TRADITION! and I'm real mad about that. Oh my gosh, I did an internet search and you are right! This is worse that not having Turkey on Thanksgiving!

She... she... *snif* said she cares about America! *snerf* and THEN she does THIS?!? BWWWWAAAHHH-HA-HA! (pool forms)

I recall a discussion a while back where a RATIONAL Palin supporter recommended I read more about her background. I don't recall who that Freeper was, but I owe the person a debt. I did my homework, and was pleasantly surprised to find her record of experience and accomplishment is very good.

But now we know - Palin is out. No one needs to take time again to write about how smart and shrewd she is for waiting until now to announce! And if we want to see an actual conservative receive the nomination it is a good idea to support one. For those who complain that Cain doesn't have enough experience go read about him, because you obviously haven't.

For those who complain that he does not have government experience I reply - Thank God!

You don't like Cain? Fine. Pick someone and support 'em. But please stop acting like the FR equivalent of what DU posters will be doing on November 7th of 2012.

(...and let the flames begin...)

I dont know. Bachmann didnt do herself any favors.

All I saw was a bunch of pathetic simpletons running with anything the media said without ever checking it out themselves. I even saw a Huffington post article posted that said she was running with a rumor from an obscure paper out of Italy about terrorists in Cuba. Few FReepers had the courage to point out that she might know something without getting it from the papers. After all, she is a permanent member of the select committee on intelligence.

Guess I'm just not all that impressed with the complete and utter lack of moral courage shown by most conservatives these days.

Amazing.

That was the 2nd reading at Mass this past Sunday.

And if we are to believe that God has an interest in America, and possibly Sarah Palin in its future, let’s remember this:

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts: nor your ways my ways, saith the Lord.”

This apparent setback for America, may be the groundwork for a greater, fuller victory in the future.

Wow, seriously??

Sarah Palin still has my ear.

Is it any different than someone like Rush not running for president? If their gifts from God are better used outside of the Beltway, wouldn’t we want that, too?

Yes, I’m sure the fact that a few FReepers had the audacity to point out Perry’s crony capitalist record is really responsible for his dismal debate performances and the fact that he stepped in it by call the base heartless. Keep spewing crap.

You are as wrong as wrong can be.

Palin will wield incredible power in the upcoming election. More so on the outside than on the inside. The world now waits on her endorsement.

There are other conservatives who are running, and who can win. It doesn’t need to be Mitt.

I for one am doing all I can to make sure Mittens doesn’t become the nominee.

Trusting God to use those as He will to guide our country back from the brink. And that includes Sarah.

I see absolutely no legitimate reason why Michelle Bachmann should not be considered as one of the top Republican candidates.

A damn shame.

She just became “Sarah who?”

Obama and the Dems will wish that were true. She is going to be on them like white on rice.
