Yes. Well, apparently Perry must be ready for all the questions and hit the mark but Cain got a pass by the media and a lot of posters here on FR.

Perry never said that, but he did imply it:

And the bottom line is it doesn’t make any difference what the sound of your last name is. That is the American way. No matter how you got into that state, from the standpoint of your parents brought you there or what have you. And that’s what we’ve done in the state of Texas. And I’m proud that we are having those individuals be contributing members of our society rather than telling them, you go be on the government dole.

Cain got a pass on FR?

You’re joking right? It’s been anti-Cain post one after the other for the last 24 hours.

I have figured out what has upset me so much about this episode. It’s not what Cain said, sometimes politicians open their mouths and garbage falls out. It’s the fact that when I heard about this I was sure when I got on FR, everybody around here would put aside their hatred, and support Perry in this.

What I saw actually surprised me. To be willing to label a man a racist simply to harm him and maybe advance your own candidate is just wrong.

Now, we have that idiot Michael Steele piling on.

Rush did not play the part of the quote where Cain defended the audience.

And what amazes me about that whole situation is the average person could count on one hand the number of people who booed that rather leading question. Of course, the "media" and their bosses at the DNC advance the distorted notion the whole crowd exploded into a chorus of boos.

How about labelling people as racist and heartless because they disagree with you on policy?

To me, this whole business of the rock and who painted over what when is of very small importance compared to the policy.

Years from now, this matter of the rock will be meaningless.

But a President Perry who legalizes tens of millions of illegals by dubbing them "guest workers" instead of deporting them will be remembered for the next century, as the person who put the final nail in the transformation of the USA from a republic of free people into another Latin American socialist state.

he lied about Perry regarding soft on border

Perry IS soft on the border. That's no lie.

Perry opposes erecting a fence on the border, which is essential if his "boots on the ground" are going to be effective, he supports giving illegals tuition benefits, and he says he wants to legalize the illegals by dubbing them "guest workers."

You don't get any softer than that!

Perry is a RINO! Illegal immigrant supporter....aren’t you? IF you’re not, according to PerryRino you are a heartless person....don’t forget the tuition credits you get only if you’re an illegal. PERRY OUT!

The matter of the rock is meaningless now. It is never right to label somebody a racist, when you know darn well they’re not.

Like I said, it’s not so much Cain’s response that bothered me, it’s Freepers responses that are bothering me. Some of us are turning out to be no better than them.

My wife and I have often driven on I-68 over the years on our way to Virginia Beach and have passed a road sign marked Negro Mountain Elev. 2740 FT.

I know we should have followed Rick Perry's example and painted over that sign the first time we saw it. My apologies to Herman Cain and the Washington Post. /s

And now that Cain has announced that he has accepted Perry's word on the "rock" and that he's done talking about it, all the pro-Cain supporters are attacking Perry.

I do not suport Perry, but on this I stand with him.... 100%.

Cain was wrong on this and he will pay dearly for his screwup. Cain was fed B/S by the media (enemy) and he SHOULD have spit it out, immediately.

However, we really do have far more important issues before us.

Cain endorsed Romney? I didn’t know that. Romney used to be the guy attacked on FR. Now he gets a pass and everyone goes after the most conservative candidate in the race because of one issue which I’m sure he can be reasoned with. These are dangerous times. When it hits the fan I prefer a President who has military experience, is a strong supporter of gun rights and right to life. Those three issues top tuition for illegals in my book.

Perry IS soft on the border. That's no lie.

Not so.

Perry has spent hundreds of million of state dollars on border security-Texas Rangers. He wants boots on the ground, drones in the air and fencing in urban areas.

And he's asked the federal government to do their sworn duty to protect and defend the international border. Crickets.

Perry wants the border SEALED.

Perry does not believe in amnesty.

But then you knew all that.

I like Rush, but eh is wrong on this issue. He says this is a made up story, but he neglects the fact that there actually WAS a rock with this painted on it. Rush is the one doing a disservice to the Conservative movement. He could have said...Cain said it, probably shouldn’t, walked it back, and it is time to move on. But, he keeps the story alive. Thanks Rush.

Now Michael Steele is disturbed too, and I sit back and wonder why every black man seems to think this posturing is effective in politics on the Republican side. Big ole sigh.
