End the war on drugs. Legalize ‘em.
No more prohibition murders. No more countless billions spent on useless “enforcement” or “deterrence”.

So much for the “sleepy fishing village”. This is the quaint village next to the resort town of Ixtapa. Cute, beautiful place with nice beaches and snorkling. What a shame.

Wife and I used to spend a week at Ixtapa (next door to Zihuatanejo) every winter. Inexpensive, good food, mostly quiet.
Pity...

Two of the greatest places were Alcapulco and Zhuatinejo. They love Americans there. Then the drug violence. If you go you stay in your hotel...

The 7 bodies found were bullet-riddled.
More bodies at the feet of the administration? Project Gun Walker??? Faster and Furiouser.

Granted one can not run and hide, but with all the places on this planet that are beautiful why on earth does any one go to places like this to vacation?

There is a real drug war in Mexico, but the Government isn’t holding up their end of the fight.
Waiting to handle these cases with Civilian Courts and laws is not going to cut it.
Martial law, and Rules of Engagement allowing Government to shoot to kill and take no prisoners is the only way to rid that country of it’s Drug Lord’s.
While the Civilian authorities are trying to build cases the Cartels are killing the civilian law.How can you build a case when people are frightened to testify, because they just looked out their window and saw 7 bodies dumped in the street.Even the top law enforcement officers are either paid off or killed. Surely they know who the Dealers are.Attack their homes and wipe them out, thats the only thing that will work at this point. Try to get them in court and you die.

Both enforcement and deterrence with the associated state run departments are permanently ingrained into the welfare state. Like the EPA, they are here to stay.

Even my ex-wife couldn't ruin the beauty and charm of Zihuantenejo in 1999 for me. The best part was getting away from all the resort hotels and just walking the downtown streets with all of the dogs and cats running wild. It was a charming city and I am very sorry to see it go to the narcothugs.

No more prohibition murders. No more countless billions spent on useless enforcement or deterrence.
So will it end the human smuggling, forced prostitution, shakedowns of everyone from teachers to cab drivers, cargo hijacking, etc etc etc? You folks are one day going to be forced to accept the fact that "Drug war" is a cutsie label that doesn't begin to describe what's going on in Mexico and legalizing drugs will have minimal impact.
My idiot niece just returned from California where she was harvesting legal marijuana. She wised up when the owners fired them all after Mexican cartels warned that people were going to die if they weren't willing to make deals.

My supposition is that it will.
I’m asking now, are there any legal businesses governed by law in nations that respect the law, that allow, or at least condone, the things you mention ?
If your niece was working for a legal business protected by law, she’d still be doing it.

And Jane Fonda was ending the war in Vietnam.
Congratulations, you're as smart as Hanoi Jane and just as worthy of respect. LOL
You may go now.
