“Niggerhead.” That was the name of the area (and is still probably called that to this day among the older natives.)
As there were apparently two interviews, why did Cain not handle the subject differently in at least the second interview he gave, as surely he was aware of the article by then?
This attack on Perry implies a standard that no white person over 30 years old could possibly meet. So if you don’t mind disempowering, disenfranchising, disemboweling every white person, then shrug your shoulders and move on to the next victim.

Nig”ger*head`\, n. A strong black chewing tobacco, usually in twisted plug form; negro head.

Frankly, none of the Posties went down there to investigate ~ they relied entirely on hearsay ~ most of it third hand.
If they had gone down there the little diesel dyke who wrote the story would be out of her nut about Squaw River Lake, and a variety of other interesting place names!
I wrote to the Cain campaign and asked for clarification on Cain’s statement. I also asked Mr Cain to step up and apologize for insinuating Perry could have taken part in such a blatant racist activity...from the cowboy days or not. His statement clearly suggests he never looked into the story. He even went so far as to say that Perry had kept the property for a long time before painting over the stone. I’m surprised at the total inaccuracy by Cain and the giant surge to the race aspect...which is the same one held by Al Sharpton who is wetting his pants over this he much. You don’t have to be a “perrywinkle” to know this stinks. You just have to be a human being. Rush will not take the side of Cain in this....and of course, Bo will say the word is offensive. But the question won’t dangle on the race baiting. The thought will be completed. I’m greatly disappointed in Cain.
There's nothing comparable for non-black opponents. Tio Taco doesn't have the sting.

Wow! Are you brilliant. That says it all and I bet there are oter signs around the old west like that. Hmmmm. Thanks.
Here's a problem for Obama ~ if every niggling little thing rises to the consequence of an Affair of State if it involves someone commenting about a gay guy, when will he ever have time to worry about "THE N-WORD"?

Using the word “insensitive” about using the “N” word is just a ploy to try to paint Herman Cain as using the race card.
In my opinion this is being blown out of proportion, and again, IMO it is only being used by those who want to use the race card to eliminate Herman Cain from the race.
I suspect that anyone saying they were offended by Mr. Cain's comment weren't interested in Mr. Cain becoming the POTUS in the first place.

Might be a hit piece put out their by the Romney camp for all we know.
It seems to be totally blown out of proportion.
One word “insensitive” and they claim Cain is using the race card?
What is this election coming to?
Bear in mind Cain might be running interference for Perry.
Many places in the united states carry the name squaw. It has no derogatory meaning, except in some pee brains head. There was one of those old urban legends claiming it referred to a females Indians private parts, but that was and is a lie.
So, as long as Cain is bashing Obama or Muslims, and as long as he speaks out against blacks being brainwashed with the liberal agenda (I Agree), thats ok, right?
But as soon as Cain speaks out against something that is “insensitive,” and a question that he honestly answered, most of you dont like him for it and will no longer support him? Wow! This is hypocritical!!!
Those who have this type of thinking need to examine THEMSELVES, because I have SEEN, with my own eyes, MANY insensitive comments about blacks coming from many of you!!! Unbelievable!!!
“he will be TAGGED PERMANENTLY as an “Uncle Tom”.”
Nail, meet hammer.
If Cain says nothing, or something like, “It ain’t no big thang” then he’s:

I grew up as a child where the “N” word was used frequently. I'm now an “older native” of my neighborhood and I would no longer use that word than the man in the moon. I find it not just insensitive but unconscionable for anyone to use it but “older” and “younger” folks who are still racists.
My point was, respecting the 10th amendment trumps the issues. That's the way the Framers designed it. Texas in-state tuition is no different then Romneycare. Imo, Romneycare is much worse. Liberal Massachusetts residents elected the state legislators and those state officials voted to give them comprehensive state wide health care. In Texas conservative residents elected the state legislators and those state officials voted to extend the SCOTUS education decision beyond the HS level and give in-state tuition rates to children of illegal aliens. IIRC, the vote on HB 1403 was 177 to 4 in 2001. In 2006 SB 1528 made the law stricter and passed the Senate with a big majority and in the House it passed on a standing roll call vote. Less than 1% of all college students in Texas, or <16,000 of 1.9 million students fall into this category. This issue doesn't disqualify Perry from being the GOP nominee or POTUS.
You're a Texan. Good for you. Now put that flag up! Btw, on this issue you're making a mountain out of a molehill. If the GOP alienates Hispanics, the GOP will never win the Presidency again. Sorry, but pandering and politics have always gone hand in hand. Always have, always will. I don't agree with the Texas in-state tuition law but a majority of Texans do. Besides, you aren't going to see another "Operation Wetback" ever again. Secure the borders and you'll stop most illegal border crossings.
“Yea, and I heard Perry drove by KKK Byrds house, so he’s definitly a racist.”
LOL! I also heard that Perry support Al Gore for POTUS in 1988, and Al’s father voted AGAINST the Civil Rights Act of 1964, so there’s even more conclusive proof that Perry is most certainly a racist.
