Equality is the religion of the feeble minded. LOL! Exactly! I've been reading Burke and Toqueville lately and they would agree!

"I am very passionate about politics, and believe in equality for all Americans," Hanks continued. "I expressed my feelings in an improper manner in the heat of the moment, and allowed my emotions to get the better of me.", As he read the words written on his hand by his attorney

Silly FReepers, the attorney wasn’t hired to sue. He was hired to negotiate the contracts from the media offering him money for interviews.

In fact Mr. Hanks was not even aware that cameras were filming the exchange." Is that his way of saying he thought without cameras he could 'get away with' being a friggin liar?
He would have lied about using the term 'whore' if he knew he couldn't be 'proven' wrong? Typical of 'his kind'... (liberal elite)
The governor of North Carolina and fellow dem liars are tying to do the same with her 'suspend elections' Hitler wannabee act... too bad for them a video has appeared. The bitch was not joking. She was ready to suspend election and the Constitution ... for a jobs program? Yep, evil. That's the term.

He probably got a lawyer because he’s afraid of getting threats. We have FReepes in this thread posting his bio, Twitter, and Facebook accounts.

I'm guessing he hired an attorney and is apologizing because of threats he may have received or fears he may receive. We have people in this very thread posting his personal information on a public message board. One obvious thing is that Sarah Palin has a group of supporters who think of her as more than just a private citizen/politician. I've read numerous posts on FR where it is said that it is God's calling for Sarah Palin to run for president.
While I think the guy is the ultimate jerk, that doesn't mean he can't seek to get himself some legal protection as well. I'd be very careful about sending this guy any sort of message, because I'm sure he's looking for a reason to turn this around against the Palins because of a few kooks who may be contacting him in retaliation. He already pulled his Twitter account, but I'm sure his attorney has it archived.

If he were receiving threats he would have called the police. My guess is he thought about the way this thing was playing out got scared he could be sued so sought out an atty. and was told pretty close to what I posted to you.

This guy apologized because this incident makes him look really bad. This lawyer he has is probably some type of PR type lawyer advising him how bad it looks and could impact his business. Even if Hollywood is liberal, there are some good Conservatives and this is just something you do not want to be associated with.
Also, those out there saying this guy could get sued are wrong. You can't sue someone for calling you names unless you are in Europe or France. Some guy flipped me off this morning. Don't know why, but should I sue him?
To: ontap
Nah. I think he lawyered up for a civil suit against people threatening him. As a public figure and TV star, if Bristol Palin sued him over that, it would only create negative publicity and further make the Palins appear to be thin-skinned.
Guy seems like a chickens**t, and that’s what a chickens**t would do.

Given his attitude displayed in an interview the day after his boorish outburst(where he cast himself as the victim because of the way Bristol said homosexual)the apology is lawyer inspired and reflects no true guilt feelings on his part. He would have been better off admitting that he was slightly intoxicated and a loudmouth.

From the sound of the letter it seems that he is afraid of losing his JOB. He wanted to let everyone know that he was only stating his own views, NOT those o his CLIENTS or the PLACE THAT HE WORKS>
By the way, Where does he work? Some of the firms clients may want to know the intelligence and character of the people they hire to MANAGE their careers.
