This education mess is not a Texas problem is is an American problem. It is a NEA problem. It is a "the educators never were told that they have enough" problem. It is a school superintendents get mega salaries and schools districts have to buy back their gold-plated contracts problem. Education has been the biggest money sink I can think of, and has destroyed the potential of untold numbers of children.

Sixty's anti-Americans built schools of education that churn out ignorant socially sensitive-liberally indoctrinated "educators," aides and second language teachers. They are assisted in this rotten business by teacher unions and trial lawyers in sucking education dry -- destroying one of our country's greatest strengths and have driven good teachers screaming to other jobs. I guess when you look at the big picture, the idea of some college bound students (who never premeditatedly did anything but graduate from school with the goal of going on to college, getting in-state tuition in a state they've lived in at least 3 years, really isn't something we think needs our first attention.

When the border is not sealed, other avenues must be used to work the problems placed on our watch. And if you've forgotten the story that started this thread, please read it again. Or you can continue to miss the forest for the trees.

Thanks, but there’s really nothing new in your post that the vast majority of informed people don’t already know.

As to your closing line...

I’m just going to go on record here...look at your comment as the one that basically broke my back. A legitimate opportunity has slipped through your fingers. Snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Being mean spirited and demeaning are not what I would call positive traits.

Asking thoughtful questions doesn’t make one hater, nor does it make me obtuse because I take a line of questioning to a reasonable conclusion or end it because it can’t go any further.

You are now free to carry on with your crusade of skewering any, and I mean ANY Perry critic, questioner, doubter, etc.

I mean what the hell, it’s just easier to put any who aren’t on “your side” into a neat little box labeled “Perry’s enemies” instead of evaluating each one independently, right?

See ya around FR.

Si if you are not going to buyild a fence then how are you, perry, Rommney or anyone else going to secure the border. Esdpecially when you have a federal government that fights you every step of the way.

I understand what your saying about the length of the border and using drones. Are the drones going to be armed? Are they going to shoot or bomb the illegals coming across to stop them? Of course not. What good are drones if the police are not going to be there to intercept the illegals? What good is it to stop the illegals if the DOJ, following the orders of Obama, is not going to prosecute them and send them back to Mexico? What good to put border patrol agents on the borders to stop illegals (many of which are armed) if the DOJ and Zero are going to allow the Mexican government to sue and or incarcerate our agents. What good is placing our agents in jeopardy while the DOJ (under Obama) sells the guns that are killing us to the Mexican cartels?

The only way to stop illegal immigration is to fence as much as u can, use the drones and have a sufficient number of law enforcement to take advantage of these measures. And to get rid of this corrupt government. If Homeland security and DOJ cannot figure it out then fire the lot of them, they are frigging useless.cannot

You stop the illegal immigration for jobs by making it impossible to get a job.

The drug trafficing needs to be dealt with by our military.

Even if you could build a fence, you can’t, but hypothetically if you did you still have to have boots on the ground to stop them from climbing over, or tunnelling under.

Until the feds decide to do something, we will have a problem. Stop blaming Perry for something he can’t do anything about.

I am not blaming Perry. And I did say that the Feds were not doing their jobs along the border. But you also cannot stop illegal immigration when you reward the illegals with free tuition assistance for their kids. You only encourage them. You also cannot stop ilegal immigration when you have sanctuary cities to help them hide and then abuse the system. The Feds have to help stop that.

No I don’t blame Perry for the leaky border but I do blanme him for encouraging illegals with his tuition assistance. You want to vote for Perry that is your right but don’t say he dosent contribute to the problem because he does.

It isn’t HIS tuition assistance. The state legislature proposed it and voted for it. It passed with a veto proof majority.

I wish he had used the veto anyway. But he didn’t. I wish he were more articulate as to why he didn’t veto it. But so far he prefers to keep his foot in his mouth.

I still prefer him to any running right now.

Funny thing though, it wasn’t that long ago when I and others were being trashed here and other places for beating the dead horse that was called illegal aliens and illegal immigration. Now it is an issue?

BS

This is not a reward. This practical for Texas because the Feds won't seal the border and it's better to allow these students to pay for their education (mostly it's at community colleges) -- as any younger siblings would have the right to do as "anchor babies" and make them better citizens (as the U.S. seems to just give them amnesty down the road). Perry wants to seal the border because that is where the problem begins.

I do not agree with tax payers being forced to pay for the education of illegal children. I have one daughter who finished a four year university and a son in sis sohopmore year at the same university. I paid all this out of my own pocket with no help from the government. Most of these kids have been attending schools in Mexico and taught by Marxist teachers and they were taught to hate the US from an early age. Now we are sending them to US universities and they are being taught by American liberals and Marxists and they will never vote conservative. Perry is just enabling them.
