One thing for sure, with the big banks, hedge funds, and big government getting involved in our food production, we're certain to have severe future shortages of food.
Food is the ultimate tool to control the populace (e.g. North Korea, Stalin's Russia, Mao's China).
When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come and see!" I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, "A quart of wheat for a day's wages, and three quarts of barley for a day's wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!" Revelation 6:5-6
The “survivor population of 7M to be utilized for the sustainment of life during a 10-day period of operations” as noted would require $1B. Not 5 digits, but it IS a very sobering thought.
The backordered suppliers mentioned have often made clear the overwhelming demand is exactly that: overwhelming demand from the general public, not some conspiratorial secret mass purchase.
5 figures isn’t enough to keep the average grocery store stocked for more than two days or so.
Just More BS.
Jim Rogers Is Bullish On All Commodities, But There's Only One Sector He Would Buy Right Now
Holder's people spend that much on muffins and coffee
Now, if it was 10 million, then it might be worth paying attention to. Maybe.
I'm thinking that someone's TFH is a little tight today.
MREs alone run into the millions of pounds worth.
Add in the dry goods procured for military dining facilities and that adds up to lots and lots of food.
As others have noted - the # 10 cans at Mountain House have been backed up the past 4 years or so most of the time.
Now just stop and think for a few minutes.
If there is a “protected class” that is to be fed - they and the system has to be protected - the food needs to be moved, prepared and served - all of that takes troops and people. Are those folks going to come to work all day - see folks get fed and then go home to a hungry family? Will the families be fed - and put up with it - while the next door neighbor starves?
While the tin foil hat idea looks good on paper it’s execution lacks a lot in the execution phase..........
............unless of a total collapse. Then government food gathered for other programs could be centralized for what you have in mind.
These large purchases and shortages have been reported over the past few months. Not that FEMA could get organized fast enough but lets play along. Missouri's population is 6M. So, that's 10 days of food for one state. That's not a lot and it's hardly enough to get through a disaster.
No, thanks. I'll avoid the melee and stay near my own pantry.
It appears that the major buy as outlined above is probably less than one truckload. 5 figures in the grocery/food distribution industry is petty cash.
Probably Fema replacing supplies expended in the recent hurricanes.
” 5 figures in the grocery/food distribution industry is petty cash “
In the realm of Gummint expenditures, it doesn’t even qualify as ‘pocket change’...
Tin foil hat time.
Are you sure this person who posted this information isn’t also heavily part of a company selling physical gold and silver? They often “gin up” these scare stories just to drive sales....
But it’s not like he got those rumors from his aunt.
Don’t worry, it’s probably just money laundering.
Well its public knowledge that 6 mos or so ago the govt ordered $1 billion in freeze dried from Mountain House which is why they were temporarily unable to supply anyone else. I don’t know if they have finished that order or not.
I do know it was not for the troops because the military either eats fairly fresh food or MRE’s in the field. So the govt is stocking up for some perceived disaster. Probably to insure continuity of govt not to feed the masses. If you believe food is being stocked up for you prepare for disappointment.
If you don’t have your own stash of food by now its time to get cracking.
