I can’t help but think that Perry - following in the august footsteps of Clinton, the Bush dynasties, and Obama - was bought off long ago with drug and human trafficking money.

Perry tried to do the only thing he could do...try to defend his indefensible record.

He was roundly booed and made a complete fool of himself.

Care to weigh in and defend Perry on this one?

Perry has a self inflicted wound. It takes very little to parse what he said before with what would be deemed reasonably fair in another world on another day. But I sense we have only seen the tip of an enormous iceberg when it comes to Perry’s enthusiasm for the goals of La Raza. I sense that if he was not already parsing the heck out of his true beliefs we would have another Gov Richardson on our hands.

No he won’t ever build a fence.

No he won’t punish employers,
No he won’t deport those convicted of a non fence jumping crime.
Yes he will give licenses, instate tuition and benefits.
When he comes to Ohio, he will see the effect of that.

Pray for an alternative to Romney!

Interesting how the Inside the beltway Romney supporters falsify a quote.
Her is the actual quote:

But if you say that we should not educate children who have come into our state for no other reason than they’ve been brought there by no fault of their own, I don’t think you have a heart. We need to be educating these children, because they will become a drag on our society

I AM TIRED OF THE LIES AND THE BLATANT DISREGARD FOR THE FEDERAL RESPONSIBILITY IN THIS MATTER.

Not the conservatives of decades past. acting more like the moveon.org types. Just pathetic.

Ok, so if their parents are illegal but they are born here, they are US citizens, correct? So I don't see how you can deny them in-state tuition in that case if they live in Texas. But how would they fill out the financial aid forms, when they are dependent students and must report parental income from a tax return, social security numbers, etc? Looks like the parents would be guilty of fraud were they illegal.

If they are illegal themselves, how are they graduating from Texas High Schools? I had to provide so much information just to enroll my daughter in Kindergarten in NY— you'd think Texas would be tougher.

My daughter heard the University of North Texas has an excellent music program. Should she apply, claim she has no paperwork, and therefore be afforded in-state tuition, which she wouldn't get as a New Yorker?

No surprise. Anyone who has paid any attention has known all along that he was a Grover Norquist Republican.

Perry is dead wrong, they are not a burden upon our society they are a burned upon whatever society they come from.

To allow them to become a burden on our society by not only allowing them to stay here but granting them state “entitlements”(like education) is an injustice to we the Tax payers and legal citizens of theses United states.

Perry can shove it. Many here have been warning freepers about Rick Perry and his do nothing, liberal views on illegals for a while now.

“I Don’t Think You Have a Heart” If You Oppose In-State Tuition for Children of Illegal Immigrants

Perry is going straight for the Latino votes. Nothing more.

He is so naive that he doesn’t understand that their allegiance is to Mexico...not the United States. They do not assimilate in to our society nor do they want to.

I never thought I would say this......but......my eyes have been opened and now Perry will not be considered for my vote, now or never.

It is a relief since I was torn between Perry and Palin and I did not relish choosing one over the other if Sarah joined the race. Now, the only choice is Sarah Palin if she runs.

Has the IIRIRA been repealed? If not, the in-state tuition for illegals violates federal law. And that’s just with Rick Perry apparently. Which gives voters an excellent opportunity to how seriously he takes an oath of office.

QUESTION FOR PERRY: Suppose Chinese or Palestinians were coming here as stowaways.....would you grant them in-state tuition?

SECOND QUESTION: Am I heartless or is Perry just stupid?

The moment of the debate where I wanted to throw something at the TV. Don’t use the liberal ploy of “you don’t have a heart” on me.

After the last few debates, I’m ready to vote for Gingrich if I don’t get to vote for Cain. A Gingrich/Cain or Cain/Gingrich ticket would suit me just fine.

Wow, it is the wrong political climate to say these sorts of things.

Another thought too. The LAST place I want these people is our educational system filled with Marxist training. They are putty in the hands of leftists.

Well, down goes Perry. At a time when the GOP field should be strongest, it turns out to be a feeble gaggle of also-rans.
