someone needs to ask Bashir what the founding fathers would think of General Electric (Bashir’s employer) who lobbied Congress to make a law for new light bulbs, then make those light bulbs in China (after closing down America plants), and pay no federal income taxes....all while receiving bailout money from the US taxpayer?

actually, the founders were SPECIFICALLY against progressive taxation.

until the 16th (fraudulently adopted) amendment, the only mention of taxation was based on the population of the state. that population would result in a percentage of the total due by the STATE for the federal budget. the Constitution left the collection of those taxes up to the states.

if the founders were on board with taxing the rich, they would have required rich states, such as VA and NY at the time, to pay a larger percentage.

they didn’t.

progressive taxation is a socialist ponzi scheme.

and the 16th amendment does a 180 from the intention of the founders. with the 16th, the individual owed money directly to the fed (ie: king George) instead of their community... which would pass it up to the state.

True, sort of, for direct taxation. Except Congress rarely implemented direct taxes.

Instead, they taxed imports through tariffs, and products produced in the US with excises.

“The poor ye have ALWAY”

The Lord Jesus recognized that there was no such thing as a socially equal utopia in this world.
