Once is too much, you can get hispanics to vote for Conservative principles without pandering to the most left leaning organization they have, yes?
You should at least do some reading on the subject:
From Speech to La Raza: 2010
Perry repeated his criticism of the federal government’s approach to border security. He said Texas has invested in keeping its residents safe from spillover violence because the federal government failed in its duty.
And, he said, the federal government’s failure to secure the border is the reason states like Arizona have taken on immigration policy.
“Until America secures the border, a rational debate on immigration policy is not going to happen,” Perry said
His internal polls must be telling him his stance is costing him a significant number of votes. I wonder if he can change his position? Time will tell.
How did you like his "last name" put down in the debate? I just love it when I'm called a bigot by a candidate, reminds me of the same garbage we got from W.......
The only “Folks here in Texas gave up on getting him to really do anything” are the dems.
You sure don’t speak for me or 99% of the “actual” common sense conservative Texans I know. Maybe you can speak for uhaul Texans.
Explain how “giving up on Perry” got him re-elected as the longest serving Governor in Texas history? You think Texas is RINO?
Your best alternative was Deb?
Cannot agree with that, especially since they are not paying into the system or in most cases paying no taxes at all because of the “under the table jobs” they are filling. Illegals need to be forced from this country with no exceptions! Put real Americans to work and see the tax bases explode again! Stop sending the jobs overseas and allowing illegals of multiple nations into this country!!
I have lived in California all my life I can see and hear. Immigration is so important that it will control my vote. If that makes me a single issue voter, so be it!
I could only get snippets from the debate I would have to actually hear the context of it (question and answer) before I comment on it.
We need to stop eating our own.
My only hope is that when Perry (or whatever Republican) is elected, that enough Tea Party members are elected to office (House and Senate), that they force the President to enforce the immigration laws - just as Republicans forced Clinton to sign the Welfare reform bill.
I wasn’t the one who ask you if you were a single issue voter. I responded to your earlier post: #4 with post #20
Your Post:
“The immigration issue is Perrys weak point. Excepting for his stance on immigration I would vote for him.”
And that isn’;t the half of it. Perry is chummy with CAIR to the point of possibly teaching Islam in public schools;
Possibly lied about how muchy he got from Merck through an other organization’faors the NAFTA highway and who knows what else? This guy has too much garbage!
I live 100 yards from the border. I’m over run with them. I am tired of everyone blowing hot air and doing nothing. Especially people like Perry who if he chose could act more like the AZ governor and support a similar bill. However as soon as that came out perry pandered to the Hispanics that “the bill is not suited for Texas” WTF???
If you start searching, you’ll discover that “corporate cronyism” is almost as great a problem. Perry has elevated “pay to play” to an art form resulting in family trips to the Rose Bowl, Europe, NCAA playoffs and jet charters shuttling his family to Colorado for summer weekends to escape the 100 degree Texas summer weather.
Borders? We don't need no stinkin borders!
The Arizona law (SB 1070), a law which Perry opposed (for Texas), did have a positive effect on the problem of illegal immigration, even though it's implementation has been delayed by a challenge from the Federal Government.
Point being, it appears that Perry (as Governor) has been completely ineffective in dealing with this problem, or he truly doesn't consider it a problem. Combined with his support of the Texas Dream Act, I tend to believe the latter.

I have no answer for that.
Does the head have a ‘position’ in the Perry administration? Have any laws been passed directly as a result of that ‘allege friendship’? How exactly has that statement/relationship effected Texas law?
He must have read the same book that Obama read.
I know you did not state I am a single issue voter. I merely put that in. No attack against you express or implied.
