In one of Obama’s first longwinded speeches pushing the “stimulus”, he called for the exorbitant sum in order in part to repair the “infrastructure”, roads, bridges, things like that for the “shovel ready” jobs it would provide. When he got what he wanted, the infrastructure along with the shovel ready jobs was ejected into the old memory hole. Now, he wants the same thing all over again. Huh?
He says so much, folks, that we’re just plain old exhausted and confused. I AM SO TIRED OF THIS SORT OF STUFF . . . .
153 less places where the feds can use our money to enable the locals to set up "Click It or Ticket" or those stupid "DWI" checkpoints in order to further suppress people's right to travel.
Less choke points, more freedom.
The one I recall is the I-35 bridge in Minneapolis in 2007.

He won’t spend the money on bridges; he’ll funnel it to the unions to support his re-election campaign.
153 divided by 57, that is 2.69 bridges per state.
Marxists honestly believe people are interchangeable units. A home construction worker can become an office worker or scientist or CEO or professor of Eastern Languages. Marxist really believe that because they are the most useless, un-educated, stupid people on the planet.
If you recall, they made it clear that white construction workers weren’t going to be a priority when it comes to stimulus money.
Actually according to this site http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/bridge/nbi/defbr10.cfm#c, there are over 146,000 deficient bridges.
I can’t believe a US president is running around the country to college campuses a year and a half before the election screaming like a lunatic to pass his bill. He looks unhinged.
“the environmentalists would never allow them to be built.”
That is true...the Bonner bridge over Oregon Inlet, outer banks, NC is dangerously close to falling down. The Southern Environmental law Center (SELC) filed suit on 2JUL11 to stop construction of a new bridge.
When people die because of SELC actions, will they be charged with manslaughter?
In other words he is totally clueless, and doesn’t know what he is saying
Solyndra waste could have supplied 3 million for each bridge.
There's plenty of sources for information on bad U.S. bridges.
The Mackinaw bridge in Michigan needs a new road deck at $300 million. Fortunately its run as a public private hybrid and much of the cost will be paid for by a fare increase.
Why did you go and say that he was clueless. You could have just left it alone but nooooo. Now I have to report you.
Then what has happened to the billions in fuel and road use taxes that have been collected over many past decades?
I am prepared to travel armed and on horseback rather than be hived-up in central cities dependent on public transportation like these people want.
The way I look at it is that this enemy will have to mount up some people with skill sets similar to mine in order to stop me. That won't happen.
I always thought that this would not probably not happen in my lifetime. It is a travesty that we may have arrived at the point where it will.
Thankfully, I am prepared.
What happened to the trillions we paid into the Highway Trust Fund over the last 20 years?
Sort of like what happened to the dough in the Social Security Trust Fund?
