Then, Romney will further solidify his place as the nominee. The End.

You mean Palin might be the "stalking horse" and not Bachmann?

Rick Perry is their backup.

Yes, and Huntsman in for Biden is another one.

They are very smart, they are relentless, and they play for the long term.

The only reason Pawlenty would have to do this is because he thought his support would go to Mitt when he dropped out, but they believe it actually went to Perry.

This makes great sense. I can't think of any other reason for TPaw to do this NOW. Otherwise, he would have played 'hard to get' more.

I wish more Governors would use the 10th amendment against the Fed, but most are way too beholden to that stream of money the Fed uses to keep states in line.

I respect that Perry has some committed supporters here, but he doesn't pass my litmus test due to Gardasil and amnesty, among others.

Regarding his instincts, those two issues especially lead me to believe that you can take the boy out of the (demonrat) party, but you can't take the party out of the boy.

I wonder about these politicians sometimes. I guess maybe a few people might be swayed by an endorsement by someone dropping out of a race. If they are swayed, they probably shouldn’t be voting anyway.

“You mean Palin might be the “stalking horse” and not Bachmann?”

The Bachmann as stalking horse stuff was always silly and uninformed.

I see quite a bit of entirely unrelated ranting on both sides of the Perry debate in this thread. But this story is no story really. TPaw’s main man, Vin Weber, was Romney’s policy guy in 2008. Tim and Mitt are of a like mind. This announcement is of the “Dog bites man” variety.

Nothing more.

I ain’t have a clue as to what Palin will do. One thing is clear to me. IF she runs, she will run against Perry on the crony capitalism charge ....

It looks like you swallowed the left-wing media agitprop hook, line and sinker.

Once hints about Sarah Palin’s speech on September 3 began to leak out, the Left-wing media latched on to a new line of attack against the GOP front-runner: The media claimed that Sarah Palin is specifically targeting Rick Perry by the use of the phrase “Crony Capitalism”

The truth is that “Crony Capitalism”, where the Federal Government in general and the Democrats in particular pick winners and losers by interfering with the marketplace and “decide “which firms to rescue or close, and which creditors to reward and how” has been a long-standing Sarah Palin theme.

What Sarah Palin means by “Crony Capitalism” is explained by Sarah Palin herself in the article written by Sarah a year and a half ago, back in April, 2010, before Rick Perry was even reelected Governor of Texas and before Perry was even on the Presidential radar screen.

Institutionalizing Crony Capitalism, by Sarah Palin on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 7:28pm

What was Sarah Palin doing in February, 2010, two months before she wrote her “Crony Capitalism” article?

Sarah was endorsing Rick Perry for reelection at a joint Houston rally.

Especially when you read things like this: Tim Pawlenty may be receiving help in paying off a campaign debt (possibly as high as six figures) from the Romney campaign in exchange for his decision to endorse Romney, reports Politico.

That's a lot of money for Romney to pay for a 1% candidate who wasn't really anybody's "darling".

Calling someone a lying scumbag isn’t very Christian either. Well, I’ll give you a pass if it’s a liberal politician, and no, Rick Perry is not a liberal politician.

You misunderstood me. In the end, either of these guys as president will give us more of the same. Both would rule with establishment in mind. Neither of these guys are a step above previous presidents. For the nation to survive we need a leader that is ready to actually lead and stop listening to whacko liberals and big corporations.

Yeah whatever.

And he’s still a lying liberal scumbag who talks a good enough game for the weak minded to buy it.

Don’t like it, don’t talk to me because I’m not going to be bullied into silence by Perrytards.

How about “Not enough of a difference to make a difference.”

Sure they all have different stories but I have not heard from them how and when they will reduce the deficit.

For any of them, can you tell me how high a deficit is too much? At what point do they veto and tell congress to go back and try again, especially if the government shuts down for a significant period? I know they have all criticized Obama Obama’s deficit. That’s not what I’m asking.

Perry declared in the debate tonight, in so many words, that he thinks it is "the American way" to give hard core, cash on the barrel-head preference to illegal aliens over and above law-abiding native born Americans.

Take your Southern Fried Romney and stick him in whatever orifice you choose.

And wasn’t there something about Romney helping pay off campaign debts for Pawlenty also?
