Apparently you don’t live in the state of New Hampshire...

Even Palin mentioned their state motto in her speech today.

Are you claiming that Sarah Palin is quietly advocating armed revolution?

You are simply rationalizing your own conclusions... we are simply refusing to accept your view of the situation.

Why are you on this thread?

Or this forum, for that matter.

“Why are you on this thread?”

Mainly I am hoping to see if anyone posting here might have some inside info on when Sarah might announce. I usually lurk on these threads but when I see a post that bears replying to, I do post a reply. I’ve not trolled, done a “drive-by” or attacked any of the pro-Palin folks on this thread, but some of your (plural) posts are a bit (imo) over the top so I will ask a question or two.

I understand why you didn’t answer my last question to you, if I were you, I wouldn’t want to answer it either.

I will withdraw the question and withdraw from this thread.

I hope you have good day,

FReegards

The most telling passage for me in the article was the following:

"After it was over, Palin left the stage to sign autographs. 20 minutes later, she was still signing autographs. When it looked like she was going to finish, she turned back to sign more books, more t-shirts, more bumper stickers She didn’t stop. She signed, she smiled, she talked, she listened. All the while, the crowd pushed towards her, beckoning her, begging her for a few seconds of her time. At one moment, a young man approached, looking for Palin to sign his t-shirt. After signing the shirt, Palin gave the man a hug. He then put his hand to his mouth, and began to cry. It was like watching a Justin Beiber fan win front row seats. It’s a reaction that you do not see at Bachmann rallies, and you will never see at a Perry rally….nor a Romney rally."

Longbow, I'm convinced of one thing, alot of these so-called Palin supporters aren't conservatives at all, conservatives just don't carry on like that. Rock star groupies act like that, that's what teenage girls and mushminded liberals do. Those same people would probably cry at an Obama rally. It's not the message of Palin or Obama that brings them out, it's the cult attraction. It's the same mob mentality that you allude to with Dean or Paul followers.

So if Palin chooses not to run for President, are you threatening to pick up arms against the U.S. Government?

Depends on how unconstitutionally invasive and abuse the government gets. We're getting closer to the confrontation you described but not there yet. This is not a "Palin" issue, but a freedom issue. Let's go back to what you said earlier.

The people that love her ARE Americans. Sadly, there is just not enough of them.

As with Reagan and as is so often the case, many don't know what to believe. Reagan's message resonated in the hearts of many who ordinarily would not be thought to be for him. Palin's message, once she runs, is the same type of message and will resonate that same way I think.

None of these “concerned” posters—notice I did not say “trolls”—ever seem to inform us what the downside would be of Sarah running.

What does anyone have to lose, except whichever candidate doesn’t get the nomination? Either you win or you lose. Everyone in the race knows that from the outset.

Bob & Mark host the morning drive slot at KWHL-FM in Anchorage. Gov. Palin frequently calls them to chat on the air, as she’s been doing for years. During a appearance on their show, she promised them that if she does decide to run for president, she will make the announcement on their program.

It's not the message of Palin or Obama that brings them out, it's the cult attraction. It's the same mob mentality that you allude to with Dean or Paul followers.

This is basically why I am even posting in these threads. The fanatical, "Palin or no one" cult of personality types are really over the top. The endless anti-Perry spam is more than just a way to inform people here at FR, it comes across as a bitter, angry attack at Perry for daring suck the wind of whatever support Palin might have had if she declared herself a candidate.

I think there is a rapidly shrinking group of people that always assumed their hero, Governor Palin, would be the 2012 standard bearer and just can not accept that it is unlikely to turn out that way. The result is seething, blistering attacks on mostly Perry because they believe he is derailing their dream.

The funny thing is, Palin was always my candidate of choice till I really realized she was not likely to run. All the things she's done including quitting her job as Governor, doing Reality TV, showing up to steal the spotlight from others whenever something big is going on, etc, show me she is more interested in remaining a celebrity rather than becoming a serious politician who can actually win a presidential election. Since that time I have grown perfectly comfortable with Perry and Bachmann, and could happily vote for either one. In my circle of friends and associates I am still accused of irrational approval of the Governor. I will always support Palin, but I can't ignore reality. She is very well known with near 100% name recognition, yet her negatives are off the chart. It is clear that sizable majorities of Republicans, conservatives and even Tea Party folks just don't want her to run. And if she did decide to run, I can't help but think the result would be a humiliating series of primary losses for her which would force her to drop out of the race and dramatically reduce the influence she will have going forward in conservative circles.

They may sound like new answers but what makes Sarah prophetic is that she recalls the old answers--the answers that led America to greatness in the first place. Her diagnosis of the ruling class (crony capitalism) and its dysfunctions sets her apart from every other candidate. Some say she is a populist, which is true, but informed by her conservatism rather than the progressivism that sank populists in the past. That makes all the difference.

You have confused politics with the response to charisma. Unfortunate. Conservatives have had so few charismatic leaders besides Ronald Reagan that many will not recognize one when she appears. America is blessed to have an advocate who exudes the unconflicted self assurance that elicits the response you derogate. You still have some important things to learn. Cheers.

Hey I’m happy to discuss the rather confrontational tone of the poster as well - but he seems to have run off.

Grunthor you claim to be on every Palin thread simply to see whether there is any inside information on when Palin might enter the race.

In the very same post you once (AGAIN) refer to Palin supporters in the third person.

You clearly do not support Palin - or else you have a very strange way of showing it. So why in the world would you spend so much time trying to figure out when she’ll enter the race?

One can only conclude you wish to assist another candidate. Who please?

If you’re willing to continue this conversation I’d like to ask you a pointed question right back.

Do you believe the state license plate of every automobile in the state of New Hampshire is anti-American?

Bet there are a lot of people in New Hampshire who would find that charge a bit over the top.

So. Speak up.

“In the very same post you once (AGAIN) refer to Palin supporters in the third person.”

Why is this a bad thing? I’ve never claimed to be a Palin supporter. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT I DISLIKE HER.

“Grunthor you claim to be on every Palin thread...”

I don’t have that kind of time.

“You clearly do not support Palin”

Support her for what? Is she running for something?

“One can only conclude you wish to assist another candidate. Who please?”

I am not trying to assist “another” candidate, as Sarah is not currently a candidate, and the candidate that I am most supportive of right now doesn’t really need the help. In the interest of fairness, I like Perry right now, even though there are things in his record that give me pause. If Sarah gets in, that changes things and I will re-evaluate my support at that time.

“Do you believe the state license plate of every automobile in the state of New Hampshire is anti-American?”

The question I asked you earlier was appropriate given the post to which I was responding. You responded to my response, somewhat out of context. I do not believe that New Hampshire license plates are anti-American, and that wasn’t the issue but I am sure you know that.

Now if you would be kind enough to answer a question for me, and I mean this in the most polite possible way;

Do you believe that all Palin threads should be “caucus threads?”

Some people’s only hope for attention is by getting in the way of people who have other things to do.

You still have some important things to learn.

I certainly do, and at 65 years old, it's a joy to know that. When we stop learning, we might as well stop living.

I stand by my statement to Longbow and welcome you to continue sharing any thoughts you may have. I've enjoyed posting Assessing the Palin Nation and starting this thread. Thanks for stopping by.
