A few things the post office can do to save money;

Eliminate Saturday delivery

Close down a large number of post offices and contract those services to private business. Postal carriers can service those drop box businesses, pick up and delivery. Why own a building staffed with personnel just to sell stamps and stuff mail boxes. Major tasks can be accomplished at a regional center. It works for UPS and FedEx, it can work for the post office.

Raise the cost of postage. The Post Office has a monopoly on first class mail.

"Umm...the USPS unions are not “public” unions in the sense you are talking"

Umm....I hope you understood that I was referring to unions that represent public service employees....

Their dues are collected from government employee paychecks that are funded by taxpayer money. Those unions act like taxpayer money is their own private sandbox to wallow around in.

They use union dues to pay for lobbyists. What's the difference between that and political purposes?

Sure the PAC is the face they offer for throwing their weight around in elections, which they overwhelmingly give to democrats. Unions for all intents and purposes are bought and paid for democrat, self-serving, greedy power mongers.

And you do what???

I'm not the issue. I believe the issue is the bloated USPS/government running out of cash.

The private sector has been beat like a drum, robbed and gang raped by government. It's what happens when government becomes totally corrupt and spends money like a drunk lotto winner.
