They have been playing this song and dance for awhile. The following is Gov. Palin’s postion and nothing I’ve heard has changed. Oh one thing changed she is against the Dream ACT.

Thanks for the link....I do not think Gov. Palin supports amnesty....Building a wall is the first common sense thing to do....Amazing that politicians speak of the time and cost of such an endeavor as though it is impossible, and yet we spend billions and billions on rebuiding other countries and their infrastructure.....

Despite her high-profile endorsement of Rick Perry during his 2010 gubernatorial primary fight,.... Palin used thinly veiled language....." to leave little doubt that she sees the Texas governor and national front-runner for the Republican nomination as part of the problem. "

So true...it was clear to all who might want to think otherwise....but then some can't put two and two together without getting five.

Most are aware Perry's a big time 'pay to play guy"....it's no secret and pretty much documented this is the case. And if there are some of the public still unaware you ca bet Coprorations and Industy know well his game!

On the other hand: "I'm not for sale" - Gov. Sarah Palin

She said to Lars Larson in an interview when she was asked flat out if she was for amnesty and she said and I quote, “NO AMNESTY”. More recently she said it again in an interview with Greta. Can’t get any clearer than that. You’re a nit picker and again, I say her standing on the border in Arizona is a flat out declaration that she is against illegal immigration and all that results from it.No other potential candidate had the balls to do what she did. They are all afraid.

I have been watching Fox News, did you see she said "polls are for strippers and skiers"?

Classic line.

I've notice the trolls have taken a break, maybe they are in unions and celebrating "Labor Day"...

No, I am a member of a grassroots immigration activist group that lobbies on the Hill and in Richmond. I follow the positions of politicians very closely on the immigration issue. I know what she said with Lars Larson and Greta.

Palin is playing the same word games that McCain and Obama play on the issue. Obama and McCain are against amensty. The issue is what do they mean when they use the word "amnesty." In the case of the pro-amnesty supporters they say that they are against amnesty and that the 12 to 20 million illegals in the country (minus the estimated 2 million "criminal illegals") must pay a fine, learn English, and get to the back of the line on an earned path to citizenship. This is the same thing we did in 1986, only we called it an amnesty.

I define amnesty as any legislation that legalizes the status of those who broke our laws by entering our country illegally and allows them to stay and work here. We must not only prevent the Democrats and some moderate Republicans from hijacking the meaning of the word amnesty, but the public must be made aware about the true impact of an amnesty. The Heritage Foundation concluded that the cost of amnesty alone would be $2.6 trillion. And the number of additional LEGAL immigrants who would join those who were the recipients of amnesty through chain migration, i.e., family reunification, would approach 70 million over a 20-year period, assuming there are only 12 million illegal aliens. We cannot assimilate such numbers. An amnesty would destroy the United States of America with the stroke of a pen.

NumbersUSA gives Palin a D rating on the immigration issues

And they lay out her position on amnesty/legalizing the status of illegals:

Despite saying she opposes "amnesty," Gov. Palin has very publicly described her preference for giving legal status to masses of illegal aliens.

■ Gov. Palin has said she opposes amnesty and there should be "no free passes" for illegal aliens. However, she seems to define amnesty like most supporters of legalization of illegal aliens. Source: Gov. Palin interview with Bill O’Reilly, 12 July 2010.

■ Palin has outlined a pathway to legalization where illegal aliens have 60 days to register with the government (those that fail to register should be deported). Palin does not have a clear idea of what to do once illegal aliens have registered, but if illegal aliens do not follow the path to legalization, they should be deported. Source: Gov. Palin interview with Bill O’Reilly, 12 July 2010.

It isn’t. She is against it.Video and a transcript from an interview with Ted Baxter that supercedes the “univision” interview.

Bullshit. Numbers USA has been debunked as using words O’Reilly said and putting them in Palins mouth. Numbers USA and you are wrong.

Debunked? First, how do you define amnesty?

And if you analyze what Palin said in the O'Reilly interview, you will see that she is playing word games and doesn't really address the issue of amnesty like she did in her Univision interview.

O’REILLY: …because you are rewarding bad behavior. You’re letting them stay in the United States. And they came in illegally.

PALIN: Then let’s keep it — then we won’t complicate it anymore. Let’s keep it simple. And let’s say no, if you are here illegally, and if you don’t follow the steps that at some point through immigration reform we’re going to be able to provide, and that is to somehow allow to you work. If you’re not going to do that, then you will be deported. You will be gone.

Palin wants to register them and then legalize their status so they can stay and work here. That is an amnesty. Don't you get it?

Definition: Amnesty, from the same Greek root as "amnesia," forgives past crimes and removes them from the record for future purposes. In the context of immigration, amnesty is commonly defined as granting legal status to a group of individuals unlawfully present in a country. It overlooks the alien's illegal entry and ongoing illegal presence and creates a new legal status that allows the recipient to live and work in the country.

The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986: The textbook example of an amnesty. The 1986 law's path to citizenship was not automatic. The legislation stipulated several requirements to receive amnesty, including payment of application fees, acquisition of English-language skills, understanding of American civics, a medical exam, and registration for military service. Individuals convicted of a felony or three misdemeanors were ineligible. No one disputes that this act provided amnesty. Supporters said it would be a “one-time” amnesty. It was estimated that one million would apply, but the true number turned out to be 2.7 million.

exactly right, bigtigermike.

If she gets in her campaign will TRULY be a grassroots
financed effort, making it unique in recent Presidential
history, despite the totally unprovable claims to the contrary from other candidates, specifically Oblahblah.
THAT is indeed the way campaigns should be financed, by small amounts coming from millions of donors, rather than millions coming from small numbers of donors. With huge numbers of real people being involved in the process, at long last, thanks to the Tea Party , this is finally a real possibility.

Will you also post the names and amounts that went to Perry’s opponent in that race, which after all was for the Governor of TEXAS, and which was almost exclusively FROM Texans and Texas enterprises? I would expect to see some overlap.

The poster of the article added the anti-Perry sentiment into the title. Without money and backing the sad reality is... you can't beat Obama.I like Palin but enough is enough. Her (paid at least 100K) keynote speech also repeated the 'you don't need a title,'(She has stated this more than once.) She is setting the bar high for the GOP and she does a damned good job but she says the same things as Bachmann and Perry wiped Bachmann out.So why does Palin think she has a chance with no backing? All the power to her but no more tease it is getting old.

I wish somebody could get in the WH that could do all of this NOW!Palin can't playing rogue no GOP backing ring around the rosey games.

Here is the video of Palin's speech

I think the title of this thread needs edited as Palin did not swipe at anyone in particular that is running but the Palin Supporters will gin up whatever they want to try to get the anti-Perry momentum going. The Palin supporters ginned up the Sept 3rd announcement date and then blamed Rove and the media because they did as well.I went looking for the Palin video and saw that the Palin supporters ginned up Sept. 17th as another Palin will announce date.Mark this post when they blame Rove,MSM,Sam Hill,Jack Daniels when she doesn't.

Palin said, "polls are for strippers and skiers" Really?

Palin has a 1 mil three year Fox News contract still while she gets paid to speak keeping the bar set high in the GOP field.

Perry- $150,000 per year

I am sure Perry gets the $300 something deducted PER every campaign DAY as Bush did.

The former Alaska governor told the crowd of 6,000 that a Perry win "will send a message to Washington ... Washington is broken, but your state, under Rick Perry, is setting an example that a lot of others want to follow."

Palin also said that she told her daughter Piper, with her on stage, that Texas was Alaska's "little-sister state."

Palin would look foolish if yesterday's speech comment *was* directed Perry's way

That's a lot to take back.

Someone posted every point the Palin supporters claim painting Perry a RINO and I can't find it now. Anyone know who posted it or where it is? I am pinging some to find it. I support no one at this time am just happy Romney's out.I disagree with all of the calling Perry RINO posts as the same thing was done to Bachmann.I now fully realize they would call Jesus a RINO if he ran.

I can't tell who the Palin supporters hate more Bachmann or Perry? If Palin is the one she will stand on her own merits and does not need all others called RINO's.

Reagan was pro amnesty.Every politician is wishy washy on border control. They are all talk and then do nothing when they get in. I think Buchanan was clear way back when and everyone and the MSM called the policy ISOLATIONISM. It still stands today to be politically incorrect to call for this and both political parties want to court the latino vote in the end.

All the power to her but no more tease it is getting old.

That she seems to be waiting for the right moment to run doesn't really speak well of her mounting a campaign that has any true viability or sustainability. Put up or shut up Sarah.
