Thank you for your comments (Post #9). I PROUDLY served on the submarine named after a great black man GEORGE WASHINGTON CARVER.
Speaking as a person who spends more than their fair share of time on the street, 80% of blacks are staunch defenders, quoting “since government and white corporations are white controlled, what can he do, and if he does anything for ‘his people’ with whites in control he has to bend a few rules” and “of course he can’t make headway with the white racist Tea Party sabotaging everything he does” I hear over and over ad nauseaum like flocks of ethnic parrots. Now the word is “We HAVE to support Obama because if he loses the election, the racist republicans will put him in prison for trying to help the black man.”
The 20% who refuse to talk about Obama, I suppose have doubts they do not vocalize. In my area a black teacher who supported a Republican candidate by putting his campaign sign on her lawn, had her car destroyed with a gasoline bomb and her home vandalized within 24hrs.
The population labeled “Black” does not vote in lockstep, but there is extreme pressure on them to do so. Those who break out from that coercion are heroic regardless of their political leaning.
The black caucus must think Obama is in the TeaParty becasue they will blame the TP.
Economists blame a variety of factors.Where did I hear that before I just can’t place my finger on it?. /s
1. College: less blacks as a percentage earn college degrees than whites, but even of those blacks who do earn a college or university degree, what do they study?
2. Victim hood: how many blacks approach life as one big anger-fest, and who wants to hire that individual? Countless black "churches", politicians, and organizations do nothing productive. All they do is incite hate and sell anger - and there are plenty of black customers who buy it.
3. Affirmative Action: because of Govt mandated quotas, blacks receive special treatment in college admission and job placement - even in areas where they do not qualify or can compete. How many blacks are given scholarships in engineering, but learn the curriculum is beyond their ability? These students may have been better suited to something else, but were lied to by the very colleges and universities that were supposed to help them.
Then let them act like citizens and not mooches.
