Now I know where this word came from - Dominionism. I have heard others referring to this term also.
Whether Perry believes in Evolution or not, its his personal choice. We still have that here in America, don’t we??
The fact is we ARE in a culture war and religion is very much in the forefront of that culture war.
America was founded on Judaeo-Christian principles. One need only go back to the Pilgrims and other forefathers to see that. Religion was a major part of the reason many of them CAME here.
God is referred to several times in the Declaration of Independence. Christianity is referred to in numerious instances in early court decisions and statments by early polticians. Refernces to the God of th Bible were infused into National Days of Thanksgiving pronouncements, etc, etc, until relatively recently - in the mid 1940s.
Since then there has been a concerted effort by a loud, intolerant minority of atheistic bigots to rewrite America by divesting God and the Judaeo-Christian values of our Founders from every aspect of Public Life.
Yet so MANY of the social ills we see exploding around us can be directly be linked to the loss of those values, or at least their reduction in significance, in recent days.
The Founding Fathers clearly did not intend America be a theocratic state and they clearly opposed an “official” state religion. But they just as clearly recognized Judaeo-Christian Morality as a bedrock upon which the Republic was founded and made every effort to acknowledge that in public life and in governmental actions.
The left are trapped like rats on a sinking ship they will say and do anything now.
