The American Conservative Union documents how Al Gore voted in favor of abortion. The man was never a conservative. He was a punk from his days at Harvard, where he smoked dope, through his years flunking out of law school and divinity school. He would have been on the street except for his father's wealth, which was derived partly from the support of Stalinist fellow-traveler Armand Hammer. So forget this crap about Al Gore ever being a "Southern Democrat." He is a worthless hunk of slime. Either Perry did not know that, in which case he is a hopelessly incompetent judge of character, or else he knew it and recognized Gore as being like himself: a posing phony and shape-changing hack. You have those two alternatives about Perry. No others. Which are you going to defend?

Oh, I see, in 2010, he remember never voting for Gore in 1988, even though he was his Texas campaign chair.............what a total crock. You now have me more worried than ever about Perry.....and truth be known, about your credibility........

Your reading comprehension is as bad as ever - you know, you can get help for that at one of those after school tutoring centers...

I clearly said that the last Democrat Perry voted for in the general election was Carter in 1976. Do I need to explain the difference between a primary and a general election to you, or can you just Google it yourself? You really are embarrassing yourself here...

It's your own inconsistent thinking you need to be worried about.

Let me get this straight, you believe that because Perry said so this year he never voted for a democrat in the general since Carter? Then he chairs Gore's campaign in 1988?

Say, I have this Nigerian bank account set aside for you, all I need is a small sum of about a thousand dollars to unlock this account for you. Just give me your bank account numbers, I'll be sure to fill your accounts......

I like Cain a lot. A whole lot. But I have trouble seeing him as the nominee ONLY because he still lacks name recognition and that’s important. Assuming he’s not the nominee, I hope the GOP nominee will pick him for VP. If ANYONE tried to call him an Uncle Tom or an Oreo, Cain would put them in place so hard they’d still be digging out three weeks later! LOL!

I know you can't read plain English - apparently you can't read a calendar either. This is not 2010. And actually, the article is not clear about when Perry made the statement but it was no later than October 2010, because it was part of a profile that was done on him for the 2010 governor's race. The comment may have been made a long time before that.

Yes, he chaired Gore's 88 Texas Primary. As the quote I gave you from 1995 said, they were hoping to elect a "conservative Southern Democrat". So obviously, that was how Gore was regarded by them at that time.

Look, I have quotes and sources to back up my contentions. Once again, you have nothing to go on but your faulty "logic". Either provide some evidence to support your contention that Perry voted for Carter over Reagan or for Mondale, or admit that you have no proof and slink away quietly.

Oh yeah, you have a quote and a reference....suuuuure you do. Proof positive. Absolute and iron clad.

Your "evidence" is so thin as to be laughable.

Stop, you're simply embarrassing yourself.....as usual......

Whatever evidence I have is at least 100% more evidence than you have, so...

Slink off, little troll.

You have no evidence, that you believe that claim is to your own embarrassment and shows the poor lack of judgment you have.

This is something a lot of Perry supporters seem to have in common......

I’d vote for any nominee over the Communist Kenyan. Is there a record of Perry being part of a Democrats for Reagan or Democrats for Bush effort? There has to be a record of it somewhere. Sorry, but I distrust the spin from a guy who remained a Democrat until 1989. BTW, where is he on the ethanol issue? Bob

You place more trust in him than I do, but it’s on the record that he supported big social lib Rudy in 2008. I’m not impressed with that selection one bit. Bob

I was in Tennessee and I know what I know. Gore was a conservative (moderate) democrat, Ronald Reagan was pro-choice in cases of rape, incest, and life of the mother, and the old, patriotic southern democrats were starting to fade away.

That’s what I know. I’ll trust that.

Now that you know the facts, I assume you will cease making this scurrilous charge and apologize.

Facts are things that can be proven by evidence, your statements are hearsay. A thread earlier today has Perry writing to Hillary praising her efforts on healthcare, claiming great benefit to the illegals in Texas, or something like that. Trans Texas Corridor alone should scare the wits out of you.

He lied, about the Gardasil fiasco and his actions after the legislature handed him his head, as well. He is a politician who sounds very conservative very election season, then he turns back into that old states pumpkin.

Having said that he would be less likely to completely kill the Republic than Obama.

Facts are things that can be proven by evidence, your statements are hearsay.

In every court I know of, the testimony of the person directly involved is considered evidence. So if we have Perry saying that he has not voted for a Democrat for President in the general election since 1976, that would be considered evidence. The unfounded assertion of a poster ona political forum to the contrary would not be considered evidence.

A thread earlier today has Perry writing to Hillary praising her efforts on healthcare, claiming great benefit to the illegals in Texas, or something like that.

As you know, that is incorrect. Another drive-by slam at Perry with nothing to back it up. You obviously didn't even read the letter, since you reference illegals, which are never mentioned in the letter or the article. Why don't you educate yourself, rather than post inane comments.

Whew hew! Finally, getting the traction and name recognition he deserves. Been running a great campaign, even using all the new social media like FB; frequent updates, interesting messages and points.

HERMAN CAIN; a man who understands how to get things DONE.

LOVE THIS MAN!!

Add me to that ping list!

I fell in political "love" with this man, and have held him dear ever since. Praying that he will win the nomination, but I know how the media treats black Conservatives - they ignore them.

Thankfully, he's using the new media to get his message out!
