Yeah, the earlier reporting on this downplayed the city’s role. Far as I can tell, it’s true that the city isn’t sponsoring the event as such, but hizzoner Tipple’s statements make it pretty clear that it’s providing more support than it might for the usual private event.
It’ll be interesting to see what actually happens — if the parade goes forward with or without Duffy (and whether he’ll have extra police protection against thugs if he’s there) — and if not, whether city support is withdrawn or paid for by the unions.
Maxine Waters said we can go straight to hell, she didn't threaten to send us there, as if she could. If Jimmy Hoffa has a son, I have never read a word he said, and I don't care what he said.
Democrat elites are committed marxists, even if some of them don't know it, and as such, have a mindset that the ends justify the means. We know that union leaders and leftist intellectuals would use violence and coercion against their political enemies. It's not new, they felt the same way in the 20s, 30s, 40s and up to today. The rank and file are not at war, yet. They have to be brought along in stages. Protests yesterday, ban from parades today, imprison in 20 years. Most will go along, even if most would say today that "no, you can't imprison someone just for being Republican.". They will come to accept it as necessary.
Listen to the tape of Waters tirade. She said that “the Tea Party can go straight to Hell and I’m going to help send them there.” Sounds like a threat to me.
Glenn Beck played clips of Hoffa’s son and “eliminating Republicans”. Another threat.
Past time for lightening up.
Labor Day is definitely a non-flag day at the Batavia house.
