Why should the U.S spend tens of billions of dollars on a missile shield to protect Europe if they won't foot the bill themselves?
Given the depth of his loathing for the federal governmentUSA, it's a little surprising that Texas Gov. Rick PerryBarack Hussein Obama wants to preside over it.....
OK, with that little adjustment, does it still make sense? Same motivation in both cases (at least I'm hoping so, in Perry's case).
“Politics: If you thought the Republicans in control of the House were an uncompromising bunch, they’ve got nothing on Perry. In Texas, the governor has never been known for reaching across the aisle and pressures moderate Republicans to toe the conservative line. He believes the GOP lost its congressional majority in 2006 not because of an unpopular war but because the party compromised its small-government principles. Under a Perry administration, it would be Rick’s way or the highway.”
Sounds good to me!
Texas Continues To See Influx Of Businesses Relocate From California
Like many businesses, former California residents are happy to reside in the Lone Star State for similar reasons.
I have no second thoughts, no qualms, no reluctance about what Ive done and moved to Texas, said Joe DeInnocentes, a California transplant. Im not sure Id ever go back to California, quite frankly.
For DeInnocentes, the state economy is stronger here. His whole family is employed, he said. The states unemployment rate sits at 8.1 percent compared to Californias 12.3 percent. The national average is 8.7 percent.
Certainly, California is not a business-friendly state, said Biff Comte, who is moving his entire corporate headquarters of his home health care business AccentCare to Texas.
From day one the MSM has not merely disagreed with her beliefs & policies, she's been ridiculed and made a laughing stock of. She's been subjected to lies, slander & false gossip that no other major American Politician has ever had to endure.
Since I believe the MSM is organized coordinated & controlled, this tells me something. Some mega-powerful force doesn't want her to succeed.
For the life of me, I don't see this LA Times article as a hit piece against Rick Perry. I see it as designed to establish his Conservative Street Cred. The way Don King would build up the "fearsomeness" of a boxer that he knew was going to take a dive. That's not a perfect analogy but you get my gist.
Rick Perry is a Bilderberg Participant. Now, 5 years later, he's being shoved down Republican's throats and the coordinated MSM is treating him with utmost RESPECT. I CANNOT just shrug that off.
I’m with you. Still hoping Sarah decides to run, but if not I think I’ll support Perry. Not perfect by any means, but I believe he can beat Obama and that is my primary goal. My blood pressure can’t take four more years of Obama.
These words come from Ludwig von Mises's book "Socialism":
"Capitalism has raised the standard of life among the masses to a level which our ancestors could not have imagined. Interventionism and efforts to introduce Socialism have been working now for some decades to shatter the foundations of the world economic system. We stand on the brink of a precipice which threatens to engulf our civilization. Whether civilized humanity will perish forever or whether the catastrophe will be averted at the eleventh hour and the only possible way of salvation retraced by which we mean the rebuilding of a society based on the unreserved recognition of private property in the means of production is a question which concerns the generation destined to act in the coming decades, for it is the ideas behind their actions that will decide it...
"To the masses the catchwords of Socialism sound enticing and the people impetuously desire Socialism because in their infatuation they expect it to bring full salvation and satisfy their longing for revenge. And so they will continue to work for Socialism, helping thereby to bring about the inevitable decline of the civilization which the nations of the West have taken thousands of years to build up. And so we must inevitably drift on to chaos and misery, the darkness of barbarism and annihilation...
"Our whole civilization rests on the fact that men have always succeeded in beating off the attack of the re-distributors. But the idea of re-distribution enjoys great popularity still, even in industrial countries. If we wish to save the world from barbarism we have to conquer Socialism."
The definition of socialism includes central planning of the economy and the redistribution of wealth and income from the rich to those who are less well off. It is the epitomy of good intentions based on complete ignorance and a lack of understanding that results in doing exactly the wrong thing. Taking from the rich to give to the poor results in the progessive impoverishment of everybody and the poorer the person the greater the harm. Proof?
If Perry is attacked by the MSM, that's because they want him to win. If Perry is praised by the MSM, that's because they want him to win.
Ah, but you see? That's the beauty of conspiracy theories - literally everything is evidence that they are true. One thing happens? We told ya so. The opposite thing happens? We told ya so. Even when there's no evidence, it just serves as proof that the conspirators are covering their tracks, and are therefore conspiring, so therefore it is evidence for the theory.
It is positively impossible to disprove any of these conspiracy theories because everything, by definition, is proof FOR them.
From day one the MSM has not merely disagreed with her beliefs & policies, she's been ridiculed and made a laughing stock of. She's been subjected to lies, slander & false gossip that no other major American Politician has ever had to endure.
Ah, but don't you get it? That's part of the plan. By attacking SARAH! so viciously, the plan is to generate sympathy for her among conservatives, so that they vote for her. It's all part of the conspiracy.
Yeh me too. If everything the LA Times said is true then I’m for Rick.
[CA 2007] "In what is the QUOTE OF THE WEEKEND at the California Republican Party Convention, Texas Governor Rick Perry CALLS OUT California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger:Wow, CW!Its a sad, sad state of affairs when liberals campaign like Republicans to get elected, and Republicans govern like liberals to be loved
Texas GOP Governor Rick Perry CALLS OUT California GOP Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger
Your quote from Governor Perry identifies EXACTLY what my concern with him is, that he will be another "Schwarzenegger" -- and CAMPAIGN as a conservative, but GOVERN as a liberal.
Many of us in California allowed Arnold Schwarzenegger to convince us during the campaign that he really **was** a conservative -- because we so desperately WANTED him to be one -- in spite of the many warning signs to the contrary.
But, as it turned out, the Governator's HEART wasn't in it, and as soon as the going got rough for him as a CONSERVATIVE, he punted -- switching over to more "popular" LIBERAL policies, so that he would stay loved.
Once bitten, twice shy.
My gut tells me that Sarah Palin's conservative principles are rock solid, and unchangeable.
I do not (yet) have that same confidence with Rick Perry.
Great post.
Here is the “sub-title” of the LA Times editorial.
“The GOP candidate’s positions are not a vision of the future for the U.S. but of a discredited past.”
Your post made the case (among other things) that it is the discredited past - BIG BLINKING NEON SOCIALIST “crumbs” — rolling them back is our template for going forward.
Bill Clinton - Head of State - USA Attends Bilderberg meeting, Germany, 1991 - gets Presidential Nomination Aug 1992.
Tony Blair - Head of State - UK Attends Bilderberg meeting, Greece, 1993 - becomes party leader Jul 1994 - becomes Prime Minister May 1997.
Jack Santer - previous Head of State (sacked for corruption) - Europe Attends Bilderberg, Germany, 1991 - becomes European President Jan 1995.
Romano Prodi - Head of State - Europe On Bilderberg Steering Committee mid 1980s, attends Bilderberg meeting, Portugal, Jun 1999 - sworn in as President of Europe Sep 1999 (term lasts until Jan 2005).
George Robertson - CEO - NATO Attends Bilderberg meeting, Scotland, 1998 - sworn in as Secretary General of NATO Aug 1999.
Lionel Jospin, participated in Bilderberg 1996. He became Prime Minister of France in 1997 (until 2002).
Rick Perry attends Bilderberg 2007 in Istanbul Turkey. 4 years later he is the frontrunner for the "Republican" nomination.
I know that you believe everything is exactly what it seems at face-value. We appear to differ on that one.
Carry on!
What about an article bashing Palin?
What about one praising Perry.
Maybe we should all just put a pillow over our heads and hide under the bed. They're gonna get us, unless maybe we should just let you two tell us who to vote for, you seem to be brilliant enough to catch the plot. Whew!
Palin also said in 2008 she was for a path to citizenship for illegals and said deporting the 12 million illegals would be "inhumane". She also said she was opposed to "total" amnesty.
My point here is Palin looks like she can play ball too. She is not pure as you have christened her. If Palin can say these things while running with McCain and say something different now, what makes you think she can't be swayed?
Perry has an actual record of job creation and taking on Obama in courts and in person.
George Bernard Shaw, a socialist echoed Edison with this quote, "Two percent of the people think; three percent of the people think they think; and ninety-five percent of the people would rather die than think."
Here are some quotes from the annals of history by people who could think:
Plutarch, (46-119AD)
The real destroyer of the liberties of the people is he who spreads among them bounties, donations and benefits.
Benjamin Franklin, July 4, 1776:
"A republic if you can keep it....When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic."
John Adams, most influential member of the Continental Congress, Second President:
"Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide."
Thomas Jefferson, Third President:
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.
James Madison, the acknowledged father of the Constitution, Fourth President, 1792:
"I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents."
Congressman Davy Crockett, Alamo hero, 1830 in the House of Representatives:
"Mr. Speaker, I have as much respect for the memory of the deceased, and as much sympathy for the sufferings of the living, as any man in this House. But we must not permit our respect for the dead or our sympathy for a part of the living to lead us into an act of injustice to the balance of the living. I will not go into an argument to prove that Congress has no power to appropriate this money as an act of charity. Every member upon this floor knows it. We have the right, as individuals, to give away as much of our own money as we please in charity; but as members of Congress we have no right to so appropriate a dollar of the public money."
Frederick Bastiat, The Law 1850:
"It is impossible to introduce into society a greater change and a greater evil than this: the conversion of the law into an instrument of plunder."
Franklin Pierce, 14th President 1854:
"[I must question] the constitutionality and propriety of the Federal Government assuming to enter into a novel and vast field of legislation, namely, that of providing for the care and support of all those
who by any form of calamity become fit objects of public philanthropy ... I cannot find any authority in the Constitution for making the Federal Government the great almoner of public charity throughout the United States. To do so would, in my judgment, be contrary to the letter and spirit of the Constitution and subversive of the whole theory upon which the Union of these States is founded."
Grover Cleveland, 22nd President 1887:
"I can find no warrant for such an appropriation in the Constitution, and I do not believe that the power and duty of the General Government ought to be extended to the relief of individual suffering which is in no manner properly related to the public service or benefit."
Mark Twain:
"The mania for giving the Government power to meddle with the private affairs of cities or citizens is likely to cause endless trouble, through the rivalry of schools and creeds that are anxious to obtain official recognition, and there is great danger that our people will lose our independence of thought and action which is the cause of much of our greatness, and sink into the helplessness of the Frenchman or German who expects his government to feed him when hungry, clothe him when naked, to prescribe when his child may be born and when he may die, and, in time, to regulate every act of humanity from the cradle to the tomb, including the manner in which he may seek future admission to paradise."
Frederick von Hayek, 1974 Nobel Laureate in Economics:
"When it becomes dominated by a collectivist creed, democracy will inevitably destroy itself."
Nikita Khrushchev:
"We can't expect the American People to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of Socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have Communism."
Another apology tour? I think NOT!
So, an article that lies about Perry on every issue and skews his policies and lies about the effects of conservative solutions is meant to make people like Perry more. I see.
Y’all are grasping at straws. The left is terrified of Perry because he is a perfect foil to take down Obama. No one else in the current field is much of a threat...to flawed. Perry has the results and campaign skills to put an end to the Obama presidency.
Yeah, he can do it on horseback if he wants, but he has to DENOUNCE the Algore.
