Make that, “....that’s what America stands for.”
Sounds eerily familiar; where have I read that before?
Oh, yeah! The Qur’an!
I would think a governor should maintain friendly relations with the citizens of his state. Islam and Communism lead the destructive forces on Earth, but there are commies and Muslims who behave in society, and some who don’t. I am more concerned about what Perry or any candidate understands about Islam. If they think it is a religion of peace, they need to expel the brain farts clogging up their heads.
From your post, it is clear that the Almighty knew what should be done to the Mid East Sand Savages.
He did attempt to replace them with a vastly more civilized people.
Even God can’t save those Sand Savages from themselves.
It’s one thing to be the governor of all Texans. But ceremonial gigs such as this are not mandatory nor are they always helpful. This one will hurt him. We have a federal right to individually practice our faith, and even to argue for our faith in the public square. It does not follow from that premise that an ostensibly Christian governor is required, either legally, morally, or politically, to play buddy to every religious body under his authority, especially those that undermine his own faith.
Put another way, how would you feel if Perry attended a groundbreaking ceremony for a new building for Fred Phelp’s congregation?
I am not sold on Perry.
many people in here whine about how Americans knew about Obama and voted for him anyway.
I am not voting for someone I do not have confidence in and Perry’s record doesn’t appear to be as shiny as some wnat to make it out.
Right now I am still holding out for Sarah Palin.
DITTO.
He is quite westernized.
Unless we as Americans, regardless of political ideology, adopt a ZERO TOLERANCE policy towards politicians who are Islamophiles, we will shortly find them compromising the Judaeo-Christian concepts upon which this nation was founded in return for Muslim money, and creating Sharia tolerant policies HERE as they have in Western Europe - most particularly Great Britain.
While not all Muslims are terrorists and not all Muslims are evil, Islam ITSELF by its very nature, what it preaches and endorses, its entire past history and its behavior currently where it is the dominant religion or even a large minority religion, mark it as an evil, intolerant, dangerous cult.
It is as alien to America and western civilization as NAZIism.
If Perry has such close contacts with the Islamic “community”, he should be held in the same degree of distaste as Chris Christie, another notorious Islamophile.
Then we hear that the British PM was "friends with Bin Laden" and then more names of PMs from other countries were exposed.
Then we find out that Bin Laden has more than 50 brothers (because in their culture the father can have multiple wives.
Then the final dot is connected... The Bin Laden family is in the building business and they are the biggest company that builds Embassies for the nations of the world. They are Embassy building contractors.
So, Bush, Clinton and everybody else had a relationship with the Bin Laden family (who had separated themselves from Osama Bin Laden long ago).
I know Texas is an oil state. And there's a lot of oil in Saudi. Oil connection?
I guess we will know once we hear about the nationalities of these Muslims.
Perry can win the independents, Palin cannot - it’s that simple. She has been far too damaged by the media to win the independent vote and to overcome the voter fraud that I am sure will be unprecedented in 2012.
Think not...but good idea to find out where he stands on
Ground Zero mosque; sharia law; CAIR and Muslim Bro. And the
Middle East in general...
No discerning Christian would ever sign a “hate crimes” bill either, considering they are already being used to suppress Christians in other countries. Perry would be worse than Bush, imo
I am not sold on him either. I have done a lot of reading about him and frankly find him to be a flip flopper. I said on another thread that he would not get my vote. My word, I thought I was being attacked by the usual, “if you don’t support him, Obama will be elected for 4 more years”. Why decide now anyway?
There are lots of muslims here who came as students before the Shah of Iran was deposed. They couldn't return. Some of them in my area put up posters of Ayatollah Khomeini decrying him as a murderous thug, calling for his death.
Many of them were from families who were employees of the Shah's Government. Their families were persecuted when the Shah fell from power and Khomeini took over.
I was just reading a 2004 Salon article on Bush, and Salem Bin Laden’s investments in TX.
Even though Salem Bin Laden took his father’s place as the head of the construction empire, and investing the family’s wealth, I think the Salon article was trying to (in the final paragraphs) infer some weird connection to George Bush missing a physical to the Bin Ladens or Mahfouzes. The article really lost me there.
My Dad knew Salem Bin Laden because my Dad was in the Aviation business. He really liked the guy, and was saddened by his untimely death in the ultralight crash.
We’ve had three presidents in a row kissing Muzzie butt, each one more than the last. I guess it’s a trend.
Your point is well taken. One can assume that it was well over 3 thousand years ago and much forgotten. In islam it is still practiced and will not be forgotten.
