Hilarious ! My silly mutts would do the same.
Regarding rabbits however...My Saint Bernard has acquired a taste for them ! Quite gross when she catches them, and I can’t believe she does !
Where’s my friggin’ holosuite ? I wanna boff some supermodels.
Nothing unusual on my part. I already live in the country most of the time, and what is regarded as paranoid in the city is regarded as pretty normal behavior out here. Caching food, stashing ammo? Storing water and gasoline and providing for alternate power sources in case the grid goes down? Heck, we don’t call that the breakdown of society, we call it “winter.”
I knew a St Bernard like that. Now the little Chihuahua was a different matter. She ripped the shirt right off the burglar and sent him packing.
I would say they were a good working pair. LOL
Take a look at this thread:
Alert: Anyone Noticing the call for US Day of RAge on September 17th? (vanity)

Sounds like my lab and chihuahua, will join in carrying everything out of the house thinking it is a game...

It is time to review and revise plans.
Thanks for the reminder to do drills. It’s been awhile at my house.
My 93 year old mom was at the cabin the other week. Lightening storm knocked out power for 11 hours. But like she said - you don’t much notice it at the cabin. Lit some candles for the two rooms, and still have a flashlight for the trip to the outhouse and hand pump like always.
Good thought. At least 4 RVN vets on block.
“Already prepped.”
Me too.
I did add a little more food, though, as well as contribute a little more nonperishables to the food pantry at our church.
My wife has a small sociopath mixed breed critter. She's too soft and he walks all over her. My wife gets fed up with his barking and yells at him. He "talks back" (barks back at her). I was outside fixing a tire. When he heard the air compressor he went nuts and barked his head off. I told him (from outside) to quiet down and he did.
Thieves avoid our place not because the dog is intimidating; they avoid us because he's so annoying!
With 2% capsaicin, anything coming at you is going to stop in its tracks. It will "induce an almost immediate but temporary burning sensation of the skin and a burning, tearing, and swelling of the eyes. If OC is inhaled, the respiratory tract becomes inflamed resulting in swelling of the mucous membranes lining the breathing passage and temporarily restricting breathing to short, shallow breaths."
Americans are too passive to get rowdy.
Best dog I have ever owned. Smart. Playful. Great with kids. And she smiles when she is happy. Really!
Well said.
The little semi-rural enclave where I live has been ready a long time. By the time it gets to us, we’ll likely know it’s coming. We’re a LONG way from London or any such.
“As a watch dog, she would WATCH while they carried everything out of the house.”
LOL
As long as it barks to warn you of intruders when your home, hope it does that at least.
The only correspondence I've had with our local Sheriff is to bitch about the value of his "public information" email campaign.
He shamelessly admitted he would be reporting property crime, and nothing else. So I have the right to know people in my neighborhood need to lock up their lawnmower, but not their daughter.
Bastards....
If anyone tries to mess with my neighborhood, we'll all most likely welcome him/her in for cappuccino or latte, discuss the reasons for his/her anger, blame white patriarchal society for their rage, give them a pair of Birkenstocks to raise their self-esteem, and drive them home in our Volvos.
And I'm only slightly exaggerating.
