Thank you for the information “deport.”
Your links do not lead to anything that shows Perry calling for an end to the unconstitutional U.S. Dept. of Education.
Downloaded that. Does not even mention the RINO Perry.
Despite the title of the thread, the RINO Perry
had NOTHING to do with it, except backing someone
else’s idea. What is it with RINOs?
The RINOs try to take credit of others.
NO RINOs.
NO PerryCARE.
NO RomneyCARE.
NO ObamaCARE.
NO RINOs.
45% of college students are not “woefully underperforming” because of a lack of government intervention.
45% (it’s more like 85%) are underperforming BECAUSE THEY ARE TOO STUPID TO GO TO COLLEGE.
Well, and because the colleges are now too stupid to send a kid to.

This “Solution” isn’t about the Feds but rather the Univerity system in Texas which comes under the Texas Constitution.
But that wasn’t the question I asked her.
The entire education system is a mess.
High schools have to have an exit exam to show some proficiency for 14 years of instruction (Pre-K up).
Colleges have entrance exams because they don’t trust the high school exit exams (and so they can identify which remedial classes are needed — reading? writing? math?)
Now the Feds control all the education loans — BIG EDUCATION!
MANY never graduate.
MANY run up huge loans and crippling loan payments (A Scottish academic last week is asking that students be allowed to sell a kidney to help pay off their loans).
WHAT kind of usable skills and knowledge are they churning out?
They’re churning out radicalized socialist ideologues.
It looks like Gov. Rick Perry is pushing back with much of that in mind EV.
I’m sure he is asking those questions too and why he’s promoting changes and getting a rise out of the powers that be.
But that wasnt the question I asked her.
I understand that but this proposal has nothing to do with the Feds as such and where you are trying to take the discussion. That’s a different topic/thread altogether since this is a state proposal.
That being the case, would you personally support the dismantlement of the U.S. Dept. of Education?
For that matter, would you support the repeal of the bulk of Article 7 of the Texas Constitution?
I'm not asking Rick Perry, by the way. I'm asking you.
Education is not a product that you can consume, like say, Vitamin C, that has a favorable effect if only you will take it.
Education is a process, and a participant sport.
Half the kids in college don’t belong there, and another 25% are lazy.
A politician who promised to cut enrollment in the UT system by 67% would be saying something worth hearing.
Another program to keep the scam going? No thanks.
Uhmmm...he’s obviously running for President of the United States. So, the question is perfectly appropriate.
I imagine once the walls have been breached Jim Noble much can happen.
So, what does Rick think of the tea Party Movement?
How about an opinion on the current economic situation?
Is he too busy polling right now?
Hah. That's funny.
Or, at least it would be funny if we weren't so deep into the quicksand as a country.
When I began school it was in a one room school house (with a 3 holer outhouse). If the teacher wasn't performing or didn't fit with what parents wanted, the school board fired her/him and hired a new teacher.
When I entered 3rd grade, schools had consolidated and classes were taught in twos: first and second; third and fourth; etc. We memorized the times tables, learned math, read, wrote essay questions -- had solid subjects.
By junior high, we'd moved to a new state in an urban setting and the school building was old (like a big boxy jailhouse). It was pretty good and I believe I learned a lot -- just good solid subjects and gym.
On to high school and graduation in the mid-sixties and off to college and a degree.
A lot has happened since then to teaching and schools and institutions of higher education and you can track the rise of socialism in our country and what I see as DECLINE in education and the RISE of anti-American "thought."
Getting out of this has to start somewhere.
It's easy to say dismantle and repeal. I have no idea how that would be done but I'm for what will put power back into the hands of taxpayers, parents - where children are educated so they can lead happy, productive lives.
Now, if I haven't answered something to your liking, or missed giving you some piece of information you wanted, forgive me but I've exhausted my patience with you.
Tea parties like Rick Perry because he’s concerned about the same things they are.
The starting point is the dismantlement of the U.S. Dept. of Education.
And the taking of responsibility by parents for the education of their own children.
