Upper middle class left wingers are the first ones to go into panic mode and flee. They flee without any kind of preparation thinking their credit card can take care of anything.
I know more than one person that got stuck out on the road for over 24 hours (that's over 24 hours after they ran out of gas and weren't moving) during hurricane Rita. They honestly though they could buy what they needed along the way. They found out the hard way there was nothing to buy. Fuel, food, and water were gone.
