As the Blessed John Paul II tells us in Evangelium vitae, “To claim the right to abortion…and to recognize that right in law, means to attribute to human freedom a perverse and evil significance: that of an absolute power over others and against others. This is the death of true freedom.”

Perfectly stated!

A pro-life demonstrator told me they never had so many women turn away at the clinic as when they’d sing “Happy Birthday”; it was more effective than the bloody images of murdered babies.

“In time the guilt will go.”

God bless her. In time it will get worse...a lot worse. It’s a heavy burden to carry for the rest of ones life.

That’s powerful! I imagine they sing, “Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday DEAR BABY.” That would make many a mom-to-be realize what she’s giving up.

After the procedure, she added “I feel hugely guilty – guilty for keeping it a secret and guilty for what I’ve done. But I don’t regret it. In time the guilt will go.”

**************************

I cannot imagine that this is true.

It is more likely that you will never be able to stop regretting what you have done.

Imagine having to live with this for the rest of your life.

"In time the guilt will go.”

She's in for the worst surprise of her life. This will eat away at her in years to come.

“I have no choice,” she said.

This is a complete lie and she knows it.

“I have no choice,” she said.

The big lie. I always want to slug people who say that about ANYTHING. There is ALWAYS another choice.

It may be that a person's decision is legitimately the best one (although not in the case of abortion), but recognizing that you ARE choosing among multiple options is what sets human beings apart from meerkats.

This “financial reasons” is a bogus excuse.
Unless she will be fired from her job for being pregnant, or cannot afford additional food while she is pregnant this makes not sense.

I’m sure there is no law in Ireland forcing her to keep and raise the child. And I believe her pre-natal care and hospitalization for childbirth are covered under under National Health .

Do not let them ever get away with the financial excuse. This is almost never a valid reason, and even if it was, some group would come forward to help you get thru the pregnancy. And you can sue for being terminated from your job.

Also, abortion providers make women feel guilty for feeling guilty with their “most women feel relieved” slogan. This implies that if you don’t feel relieved you are not like “most women” ... ergo, something is wrong with YOU.

Explain how turning in your baby for adoption is a financial burden. Just give the baby up for adoption.

I think sometimes people make a little deal with themselves: they will wring their hands and say they feel guilty, awful guilty, and then do the foul act anyway. Feeling "guilty" in effect gives them permission to do the awful deed, because it proves that they are still decent people, after all.

People express how bad they feel about dumping their spouse; or not spending time with their aging, declining mother; or bombing civilians; or something of that sort. Even Anders Breivik said he knew shooting down those teenagers was "cruel" (or perhaps his word was "atrocious"). And feeling bad about it makes the individual feel better about it, even makes them feel more justified in a sense, because it convinces them that they are sensitive, they are not total barbarians, not monsters, not really, not deep down.

Or so they tell themselves.

Excellent insight. I’d never thought of that! Now I’ll have to pay attention to make sure I’m not doing the same thing!

Lorraine (not her real name), an unemployed mother of two, says she chose abortion for financial reasons.

Matthew 16:26-27 26For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? 27 For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done.

Nobody feels guilt for making correct and right moral choices.

She feels guilt because she did wrong and KNEW it.

Until she acknowledges that the murder of her child was indeed murder, she is going to be consumed by guilt. The only way to be free from it is confession and repentance.

Some deal with guilt by searing their soul, then they feel no guilt. And as a side note, they can then wander off into immorality to feel ‘alive’ while feeling no guilt. Sanger is an excellent case study. But many of the feminazis of our day are just as dead int heir souls. They really do not feel guilt, for anything. i mean, being a murderer is the ultimate to feel guilt for, yet they have learned how from their father to assuage the guilt in believing the lies they've told themselves.

That’s a VERY interesting way of looking at it.
